[ARCHIVED] [GRO] Research Genealogy does nothing

I have the same issue. /:

What I’ve noticed is that this interaction only works within the first 3 days of your new sims game. After that, it becomes an empty interaction. Try having your sims use this interaction early. 

Why doesn't researching genealogy fill in the blanks in the family tree? My sims' family trees have blanks all over the place. This would be far more rewarding to me than a visit from some long lost cousin, which has never worked for my game either.

I just recently had a Sim use this interaction right after starting a new save and it worked perfectly. But when her husband used it later on nothing happens. So I would support the hypothesis that it only seems to work once/at the beginning of a new save and stops working in ongoing saves (which is a real shame, I really like this feature).

Mine has stopped working.  I'm curious if it is still working for anyone else.  I had it happen to 3 different sim families after the pack first came out.

I am still having this issue too. Both with and without mods.

When Growing Together first came out I didn't know what it was and just had my sim do it and she had a relative come over. That's the only time it's ever worked. Ever since my sim could Research Genealogy multiple times every day and nothing ever happens. This is across multiple saves, with and without mods (the only ones I use when I'm playing with mods are UI cheats and MCCC).

This has continued to not happen with every update, my game is always up to date. I'm on PC, have all packs installed.
