This is more than a bug. I and many others who have posted in different sections on EA Answers HQ are having these same issues: 800 Errors, White-screen-of-death, Corrupted lots/worlds/saves, and as this malignant string of poorly written software code invades more and more of our saves, it will finally (as in my case) render Sims 4 unplayable. (see my and other recent posts on this).
Many of us have to resort to a any saved game we have in our back-ups that might be stable - and prior to installing the last 3 or 4 DLCs (for Rent seems to be one major trigger), while rebuilding with those DLC suspended. Maybe EA will fix this, but I have a feeling it's so far down in the code base and they aren't focused on this anyway, they are focused on shoving out more expensive DLCS till the golden goose finally dies, then they'll move onto some new sports title or junk game. Heck the CEO claimed he doesn't even play Sims!
Sorry for the downer, but there are so many of us who have put year into this game, built beautiful lots/households/worlds and to have to junk that start over is just too much to ask.
Hopefully the community Hero Crin will help you submit this to EA and link this subject to others.
Peace.
I'm frustrated that I play on console and this is still an issue. It has nothing to do with CC or mods for me, but I have a whole corrupted save file that I can't use and have essentially lost everything for a legacy family that I had started way back in the day. This needs to be addressed!

PC,Mac, all Consoles will have this issue. It's coding. Once the save file reaches a certain unknown limit, the game can't find certain data. It becomes corrupted.

I had a save break at ~85Mb. So I don't really know what's the limit, as it seems to be different for each players, but I had many residential rentals (45 units in total if I recall correctly).
That's the issue that worries me the most with the game (and I'm saying that with issues about residentials rentals/apartements messing up your saves with litter everywhere existing !) as we still don't know precisely what causes it.

I think that perhaps save file size could be one contributor. However, like Down-in-Simsland, my save files broke anywhere from 85-90mb. It really is bad code-base and poor management/QA of the DLCs. Too many, too soon, too complex, and too poorly tested DLCs rolled out despite breaking the game.
