I notice something about the size of my save file vs corrupted lots. If I keep the save file under 130,000 KB with homes and residential rentals, the game will actually play normal. Usually, I will try to keep the save file under 125,000 KB, lots won't disappear. But as soon as I build another lot or download a huge and loaded home from the gallery, and go back to Willow Creek or New Crest, the lots will disappear and the corruption starts. Not only that, I tried adding more sims to my game. Again, If I push the save button and the save file reaches over 130,000 KB, lots start disappearing. Now I wonder if anyone out there that has a bigger save file than 130,000 KB and not having any issues at all? If so, I think EA should look into coding the save function to allow bigger saves.
Same this is how I have been playing I just can not build any more Residential Rentals with more than one unit on it. I have been trouble shooting this for over three months just to get the game usable. EA should pay me to play this game at this point. My Save file is no where near 130 so I think we both have two different ways to get to this error. Good Luck trouble shooting andI hope within the next few years they release something to fix this.
- Buggs2037 months agoNew Novice@Buggs203 Yea I have Spent and week working on this further and it do seem to be a file size cap for me as well. My save is at 63,909Kb and if I remove my mods I can play that same family until it gets to 63,896Kb then it seems to hit the same issue. I have also found out during this time that there are other ways to these symptoms this is what is causing my save games to have this issue. I thought this issue might be because of for rent but I believe that if I test this like I did the mods my files would corrupt at the high 63,000KB regardless its just 4rent gets me to the number a lot quicker. Any ways I will have to change my play style and continue to no longer support EA until they have my game playable again. Good Luck to everyone! And I will continue to follow this thread till its closed.

Ugh, this is bad news. I'm a hardcore, many-household rotational player. I'm doomed.

I'm the same way. I play multiple families. This bug has absolutely ruined my game. Willow Creek all the way to Windenburg now are affected. Either lots won't load or when they do, they're empty....the houses or whatever building I placed there is gone. EA has given us NOTHING. No "Hey, we know this bug is huge. We see you. We're working on it"....no acknowledgement whatsoever. It'll affect more and more players, no doubt about it. EA doesn't seem to care perhaps, I don't know.

For what it's worth, when I contacted EA and said I'd need a refund for the dozens of TS4 products I've purchased if they couldn't fix it, the customer service rep said that their support team was working on a solution. I think we need to hold them to that commitment, though. This is a critical error and shouldn't be shoved down the to-do list.

right cause it could take months if they tried to put on a list then we would have to wait for the next update

I'm not getting an error code but I am getting at least one lot that appears fine in the overworld and then changes to an empty lot when I try to load or edit it. I'm afraid to make any new saves on this file in case it becomes permanent, since I don't have the lot backed up in my gallery and I spent a lot of time building it.

You should often make copies of the save files and put them to a different folder so if anything happens you can go back to an old version and find your lost build. Also upload every build you made to the library so you can access it from different save files anytime. i also recommend copying tray files to a different folder.
- 7 months agoHello everyone. I recently had a problem. Like hundreds of other players. I play with different families, develop all the towns, create NPCs. It started with Willow Creek, there the lot with rental housing stopped loading. Then such lots in Evergreen Harbor stopped loading. I built it up completely and there was a lot of rental housing there. Of course, I tried deleting the entire SS, because I thought that the problem was something related to rental housing. It was these lots that stopped loading for me and started giving error 800. Nothing helped. Then, all the lots in Willow Creek stopped loading. Endless loading... I was able to go to the Goth lot, but it turned out to be empty. The house I built for them disappeared. Apparently, this is the fate of all my buildings in this city. Lots in Evergreen Harbor also do not load. The other cities are fine for now. Perhaps because I have almost no rental housing in them. This is all very sad. Now I am busy saving all my families and buildings in the gallery to load them into a new save. As far as I understand, there is no other way. Sorry, I am writing with the help of an automatic translator, I do not speak English.
- indywara7 months agoSeasoned Vanguard@MayLilac11111111 The problem is that residential rental lots are broken. So if you transfer them to another save then that save will get corrupted too over time.
You should avoid playing in residential rentals, apartments and penthouses. - 7 months ago@индивара I understand. I won't be able to save them because I can't access them. I want to save my buildings and some families. The broken buildings are not my own, they are downloaded from the Gallery. It's still a pity because I rebuilt many for my game. But I can't completely give up rented housing, I really like these opportunities. Now I'll be smarter, I'll save everything in the library right away. Thanks for the answer.

This bug and the overlapping stalls are the ones that hurt my game the most. I'm happy that they are working on the overlapping stalls. Hopefully this bug will be their next fix.
