[ARCHIVED] [HSY] Can’t follow teen sims to highschool

Same.  They just go to school like normal.

This makes the absolute main feature of the expansion pack WORTHLESS.  

How can you sell an expansion pack and BREAK THE FEATURE IT ADVERTISES.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

• Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
• Tray Folder
• Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
• Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
• Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
• ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
• Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

Side question: Is "Enable Follow Messages" set to On, or Off? - If set to "Off" they just attend school as before the new expansion pack.

I'm currently not sure about this issue.

There seem both mod related and non mod related component.

Please make sure to remove or update your mods.

Possible Culprits:

• Mods (like any mod that already added a school)
• You have follow not turned on on the career tab
• The first day might not work. Depending of when you enter the game, the game might already be locked on rabbithole. Try the next day.

If you still have this issues with all mods/cc removed and it still happens on consecutive days, please send me your save game.

If your issue is mod related, please use the other thread if you can't find the culprit. There have been a few mentioned there. Any posts about mods being the cause will be moved over to the other thread.

I don't even have that option, the school menu is just like before the pack

Sorry if this sounds little silly, but have you tried playing till the next sim day? For me when I loaded it was monday and all of my teen sims went to school without asking me... Next day everything worked normal. 🙂
