[ARCHIVED] [JTB] Arresting Someone (First Order) gets stuck

Whenever my sim checks an ID and finds a resistance sympathizer, they do not move towards being escorted to the ship. They will freeze for a second. The supporter will then reset and go about their business and continue slicing. My sims will be stuck in the process of escorting a sim. I cannot click on anything besides traveling back to the cantina.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to complete the First Order mission in Batuu where you check IDs of Resistance sympathizers
What happens when the bug occurs? The played sim gets locked in place and clicking on anything gets you the message "action isn't available because sim is being escorted".
What do you expect to see? The arrest actually working.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I remember having to deal with this same bug way back in 2020 and it's crazy that it's still in the game. What does EA do all day? Why can't you fix a bug that's been in your game for 4 whole years?

Running into this bug brought back memories of me trying to find a workaround for a whole day before just reverting to an older save and doing the resistance missions instead. I really hope I don't have to do that again.

I had exactly the same problem and might just have found the cause and solution of this bug. If your sim has a personality trait of "Proper", they cannot proceed with the arresting as they aren't able to get into a fight.

Thus, the solution is to remove the trait (e.g., using a cheat, see www.gamerant.com/the-sims-4-how-to-change-traits). Then try to check ID again, your sim gets into the fight and eventually arrests the suspicious sim.

I have successfully escorted Batuu citizens after checking their ID in both Black Spire Outpost and First Order District when not having the Resisting Arrest mission (completing the Aspiration milestone), but every time I've taken the Resisting Arrest mission and checked ID on a Resistance member (always so far in the First Order District), the member has put its hands up and my sim has run off to do stuff other than escorting, and been unresponsive to directions because "escorting someone".

This just worked for me. I've been stuck on this for days. Once I got my droid to engage in follow protocol it allowed me to make the arrest after they fight.

You just need to wait long enough, until the sim being escorted leaves.
