I think I had this bug too. I moved my sim from one regular residential lot to another. I sold my furniture, but she should have had 5.000 simoleons when she moved in. But once she bought it, she suddenly had -4000. I didn't know your funds could actually go negative.

I also have this bug and after moving my sim had negative money.
