[ARCHIVED] [LD] Ghost Essence not appearing in inventory

I was having this problem too until I went home. For some reason it didn’t work at all at the lounge, but worked perfectly the second my sim stepped in my own lot

I'm having this issue sporadically. I was trying to get essence for one of the favor tasks using a Sim who was a temporary ghost. I would get the message that essence was added to the inventory, but it wouldn't be there. The second time I had him become a temporary ghost, the essence didn't appear in my inventory after the first Ghost Mastery action, but when I did another Ghost Mastery action a few minutes later, two essences appeared in my inventory. Since then it seems like it only appears about half the time, but I haven't been able to discern a pattern.

I'm also having this issue and cannot complete the quest with a living sim temporarily turned into a ghost via the bog.

having almost the same issue, except my sim is an actual ghost (died by meteor yesterday) and fear essences rarely show up, even though the pop-up tells me they should. around one in five show up for me.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Every expansion, game pack, and stuff pack except for DHD, HSY, and Horse Ranch.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Turn your living sim into a ghost temporarily using the Medium Skill's Ghastly Ritual, purchase ghost powers, and then try using them
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims that are temporary ghosts do not receive the ghost essence, even though the Essence-trials mission implies that they should.
What do you expect to see? I expect to receive the ghost essence.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now, I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No, I just tried doing this.

When I cheated to add a ghost trait to my sim (trait_Ghost_MotherPlant), I was able to do the same activities and earn the ghost essence. It looks like this bug impacts living sims specifically.

For me, the notification from ghost essence didn't even appear. I tested it without mods and it remains the same.

My sim was trying to get one of the tarot cards and you have to become a temporary ghost and collect 2 ghost essences. I made my sim scare other sims for fear essence and a notification popped up saying I had ghost essence but it was not in my inventory anywhere. I’ve seen a few other people mention having this problem too.
