Even after today's update I am also still having the same issue, I've tried with both my old save and with a completely new save with no mods in the game.
I'm in the same boat. I was hoping I'd get lucky and it might be resolved with the patch, but I'm still having the same problem (mods are gone, cache has been deleted).

yeah, it must be some type of bug on EA's part because I feel like I've tried everything. I'm debating on uninstalling the game and reinstalling and testing that to see if it works

So I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the game, testing afterwards with both no mods and mods and the bug is gone (fingers crossed it remains that way). So I'm not sure what really caused it, but I tested it on a new save and an old save that I backed up and after editing a lot and reloading the lot the lot retained all of my edits. It sucks that I had to do all of that because of a bug, but perhaps it could help with your game 🙂

Hello.
For anyone seeing this with an unmodded game, could you share your entire \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ folder?
As mentioned by Crinrict earlier in this thread, this might be related to another issue, which has been difficult for us to figure out. It would be good to share saves before and after the issue occurred, as well as information on what you were doing in the game before the issue occurred.
Instructions on how to share files are here:[INFORMATION] How to Send User Files to The Sims 4 Team - Answer HQ
