Still have this problem as of Jan 2025. I just moved from an iMac to a Macbook, and this bug is really upsetting. I spend most of my time in CAS, and I make a ton of custom makeup swatches. I really hope they'll fix it soon. I have an M3 chip as well, so it seems to apply to all Macbooks unfortunately.
This has also been an issue for me for a little while. Affected my old 2019 Macbook Pro, and still affecting my new M3 Macbook Air. It's incredibly frustrating and limiting, and I can't think of any way to really raise this issue more effectively with EA. I have tried mentioning it on Twitter but have gotten nowhere. This has been an issue for seemingly way too long.
This is still an issue after the latest game update (using a 2023 Macbook Pro).
