[MAC] Makeup sliders don't work when sliding to the left

This bug is listed in the Archived Bug Reports as [Open], but I'm confused why it's not in the new Bug Reports area if it's still considered open, so I apologize if I'm in the wrong for reporting this. This change over is really confusing to me.

On Mac (latest OS on a 2023 Macbook Pro M3 Pro Chip) makeup and skintone sliders are still not working correctly after the newest patch.

They only work when sliding to the right except for the Opacity slider on makeup which works both left and right. It has been that way since I switched over to Mac in April 2024.

I was hoping with the new tattoo sliders, the makeup sliders would be fixed finally for Mac, but they aren't.

This was originally reported two years ago. I really wish it could get some attention.

  • Every patch I hope this gets fixed and it never is. The game is unplayable until then. It’s beyond belief that they don’t see anything wrong with an inability to create and style darker-skinned sims. All the recent diversity efforts are hollow when this is happening.

  • I don't know whether to make a new thread or edit this post, but I did some quick testing on the new tattoo sliders and they seem to have the same problem: only Opacity works when sliding left.

This is still happening!!!! It’s been an issue since early 2023, and now that they have introduced the new tattoo category I am still unable to move the darkness slider to the left - I can only make tattoos lighter.

This is super limiting for darker skinned sims. With a new pack coming out that will utilise this function a LOT, I am really hoping that EA have made this bug a priority. It’s well past time.

  • Edit: If it helps whoever will hopefully investigate, a common denominator seems to be having the M-series silicon chip instead of an Intel chip. In the last thread, Intel Mac users had no problem while M-chip users did. The problem also seems to have started after the patch of official M-silicon support as a place to check if investigating.

With time, more and more Mac users will have M-series silicon chips. If the problem is there, how will you explain that it’s been years?

Well tattoo sliders are broken as well, and with that being a "new" feature, hopefully it will bring some attention this problem. I really had hoped with the new tattoo sliders, this problem would go away.

As time goes on, there will definitely be less Intel Mac users as Apple drops support for them.

I've noticed the same issue, also on a Mac with an M-series chip.
