How it is still not fixed. I just had a maid come in, charge me 88 simleons and then leave and the dishes and trash and cat hairballs and full litterboxes are still there. I just want them to do the job! This has been an issue since 2015.
Hey internet, Wondering if anyone knows of a fix for this issue? I frequently have maids/nannies/other employees not doing their jobs. Nannies ignore children to play video games or watch TV or use the observatory/microscope, same with Maids, and recently Ranch Hands.
So far my best fixes for Nannies and Maids is a mix of the following:
No TVs in the house anywhere
Computers locked for anyone but household, (a pain in the butt to do cause it doesn't always work and can be hard to find cause I like giving sims a personal PC and then a couple extra so they can all do things without having to go to one spot/wait turns) which also usually means the computer is in the sim's bedroom and having the door locked for outside sims.... also complicated and causes problems.
And finally, when a Nanny refuses to do any work I have to go into world edit mode and physically delete the sim from existence in the game file. Like... Bye Bye Sandra you no longer exist.
It's either that or murder but Murder just makes everyone sad and I don't have time to deal with Mom befriending the reaper-
if anyone has any better/less time-consuming workarounds that would be great! I should note, idk if any of this works for Ranch Hands, (I started a new save after having gotten overwhelmed with the Horse Sim in the family but will go back to it later on) and I've never ever had an issue with Gardeners to my knowledge. I don't usually use repair services so I don't know if I've ever had issues there, but I do believe I've had similar problems with Caterers and Mixologists for Parties.
