I had almost ten nannies at the end. I cannot pay them all.
I WOULD share a save file, if I were willing to eff my game up more. I was having this issue, and went down so many paths to get my nanny gone. I'd say my nanny had hung around for at least a week in the game. I've no idea what I did (if anything) to stop them from showing up. All I know is that since then, I've refused to hire a nanny.
I'd rather send my toddlers to daycare and risk their needs being neglected all day, resulting in the social worker taking them away. At least when that happens (which it has several times), I can go back to a previous save and CHEAT their needs if I absolutely have to.
I never post here, but wanted to chime in and report this very same problem in my game. Though I do use mods and have used them pretty much since TS4's release, this is the very first time I'm encountering any issues regarding the nanny system. What I can clearly remember doing before encountering the Endless Nanny problem when I was playing my save a couple days ago was I'd hired a nanny (even though my Sim's kids were already children) and then had the family go on vacation to Granite Falls for 3 days. During the vacation, I kept getting popups about how even though I'd hired a nanny, because I was on vacation the nanny would "house sit" while the family was gone. And then after the family returned from their vacation is when the nannies kept spawning, "hi! My name is ____!"
Yesterday while I was playing the same save, I kept having one of my Sims Fire or Dismiss a nanny (and get charged for it), only to have another one come to the door some moments later. At one point, while one of my Sims was about to have a baby, I had TWO just standing outside the front door and another one that was completely invisible! Whenever the baby cried from being hungry and my Sim would try to feed it, I kept seeing a route fail bubble over the parent's head, along with the face of the invisible nanny, meaning the invisible nanny was actually making so the Sim couldn't feed the baby!
