I have the same problem even though I started a new save with mods and cc turned off if it helps here is the BetterExceptions report from today from a save with mods and cc.

If it helps I can see the list of in progress knitting projects when I select Knit, but then it never gets added to the action queue
I tried to attach the full BetterExceptions report but it wouldn't allow it since it has the html extension.
Hopefully the last exception has enough of a traceback for debugging. Good luck since I'm also a programmer but on a smaller scale
