[ARCHIVED] Not receiving royalties (GF not Installed)

Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.66.139.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Island Living, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Realm of Magic, Holiday Celebration Pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Publish songs, books, video games, apps, etc.
What happens when the bug occurs? I do not receive any Royalties.
What do you expect to see? Receive royalties.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I've published many books, video documentaries, video games, apps, songs, and receive no royalties from any of them. One of my sims was a mermaid, until I read online that mermaids have problems receiving royalties and I turned her human again. She still does not receive royalties and neither does my normal human sim who has completed apps and video games, and a book. I used to live in Sulani and moved to the realm of magic world, but have not received any royalties since the start of my game.

    Let's try a factory reset

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Just put back your saved game and nothing else and test how it goes. If it now works, you can start putting stuff back

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • I've moved them from Sulani to Glimmerbrook before, but they've not received royalties ever. Could it be an issue with starting out in Sulani maybe?

Update: I just tested starting in Sulani on another save and got royalties. I'm at a loss too.

Also moved my main household out and back in as suggested, and still no royalties.

(CM: Multiple posts merged to limit bumps/spam. Check out this post for tips on how to edit.)

  • I tested another household in the same save game, and royalties work for the new household.

@Rinnyper I tested your save and got royalties.

Could you also test another household on the same save game ?
  • I started a fresh save with a new sim in willow creek just like you suggested and I do not have the same issue. I am receiving royalties with this fresh save.

  • @Rinnyper If you start a fresh save for testing and just use a new Sim in Willow creek, do you have the same issue ?
