when I go into the sims 4 there are orange triangles with an exclemation on most of the lots (both empty and buildings). I can go onto the empty lots when I'm just gonna build, but when I do build, the actual floors and roofs of the squares I build doest show up. if I just made a new sim I can't move them to any of the houses where there is a exclamation. I can't play with any of the existing households if the house have an orange exclamation. Is.there a specific reason for this? If so What can I do to fix it?
@Clarohine If you completely bulldoze one of the lots and place a new building on it, do you have the same issue? You don't need to save your progress after doing so, in fact please don't: it's better if you preserve the game's automatic backups, in case you need them later, and saving erases the oldest backup.
Please also let me know whether you use mods or custom content.
I do still have the same issue even if I bulldoze the lots. I do have cc in my game but, I've tried to remove all of it to see if that was the reason, but it made no difference. I added some screenshots of the orange triangles in case I wasn't able to explain it properly.
I highly appreciate your answer. I'm open to try legitimately anything to make my game work as normal again, so I'm thankful for any ideas.
@Clarohine Just to be thorough, please move your entire Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. On one of the affected lots, change its lot type to something commercial/community-based, e.g. a gym or park, then back to residential. Use "save as" to rename the save, quit, reload, and see whether the lot behaves normally.
I have the same issue. I have a lot with an orange exclamation over it. When i go into it the house is gone but the family is still there. I have tried backing up and reinstalling the game, same issue. If i go to lot options it looks like it is a retail store ( family owned a retail location as well). If I sell the retail store the lot becomes unuseable. Cannot delete it, cannot edit it. I sent aomw save files along but they said they were a bit busy and may not be able to look at them. Afraid to use the game if its been spreading in other peoples games. No cc used and no mods. Only EA products
I havent tried bulldozing but if I go into build mode and place a new lot or replace with the same lot that was there, its playable
I don't recommand doing this. I tried but when it's corrupted it's seems to be already too late. The bug come back again and again, you should use a backup save without the exclamations points.
I opened my game and everything is normal, except for one thing. The save I’ve been playing for a while is completely reset. All my households and houses I’ve built are gone, and there’s an orange triangle over every lot. Every other save I have is completely intact. I know I’ve been saving it and I played it earlier today.
I’ve removed all my cc, restarted my computer, and repaired the game. It’s still not there.
