This still happens in PS4 - I think it happens when I have been playing for an extended period of time. Three things I do to make it stop. 1. Save the game. 2. Save the game and switch to Build/Live depending on the mode I am presently in then save again. 2. Save then restart the Sims 4. Restarting the Sims 4 always works.
I second this. The rapid scrolling is a persistant issue that has been going on for a long time. It usually happens in CAS for me.
Normally, I have a tendency to leave my game open for days at a time. My PS4 goes into sleep mode without closing the game.
It doesn't happen the first time I open CAS, but if I open CAS multiple times, it'll start to bug. Adjusting the setting for cursor speed does not fix this.
Usually, I have to restart the game to fix it.
Because I play with merfolk, there are a few different ways I enter CAS. For a while, I'd use the cheat to "Modify Sim" to change outfits. There aren't merfolk unique build mode items, so when I play my merfolk households, the only build mode Item I tend to use to enter CAS is a mirror. It's the only build mode item that works while merfolk are in the water.
After some later updates, I started entering CAS using the option in Simology. Old habits die hard, and I still go into CAS via the Modify Sim Option.
Most of the time, this bug happens while entering CAS from Live Mode. If I go to manage households from the Manage Worlds Screen, it happens less often, but it's also don't use this option to enter CAS often.
Before the game became free, I recently entered CAS from the Manage World Screen. I encountered the rapid scrolling bug after I entered CAS with the third or fourth household.
So, I've noticed that it happens when I play for a long time, and/ or when I go in and out of CAS frequently.
I hope this info helps. I recently deleted all my screenshots and captures, so I'll have to take new screenshots for any more details. I've been playing the Sims 4 on the Console for a long time. In hindsight, I'm kinda regretting the deletion of my screenshots. I've captured dozens of bugs with Sims 4 on the PS4 and spent almost as much time in the Sims Forums sharing what I've done to work around and solve the problems I encountered.
Sorry about my edits. My English Degree makes it hard to accept typos.
