[ARCHIVED] Reaper's Rewards Catsor Alley task not completing

I don't have that problem, exactly. I looked and saw that Angelfish like frogs as bait. So I got like 25 frogs and had my sim go to the area in Willow Creek that it said to get an Angelfish. I examined the water, it said there was an angelfish ... and that part of the quest went away. All that's left is to go to Caster's Alley. I didn't spend all that time magically copying the frogs for nothing, though, so I fished with them until they ran out. Then I went to Caster's Alley. They had Angelfish. So I bought ten. Didn't work. So I bought just one. Still didn't work. So I went back to my sim's house, and followed the directions on the quest to the letter: use the glimmerstone to travel to the magic realm, walk through the portal to Caster's Alley, buy another angelfish. Still nothing.

I have a dozen Angelfish now and the quest won't clear.

UPDATE:

I figured I'd just get out of that game and go to my current save (the save I'm using for Reaper's Rewards is a completely OP spellcaster with tons of maxed skills and completed aspirations) and in *that* save, the First Ingredient task showed up but only the "go to Caster's Alley" part. I decided since one of my sims in that save didn't have to go to work I'd have him just pop into Caster's Alley and see if there was an angelfish for sale and as soon as I entered the magic realm via the portal--not even Caster's Alley--the task cleared and he got the rewards.

I had a somewhat similar issue, the Sim I'm using for Reaper's Rewards isn't a spellcaster so I had to travel to the magic realm without a Glimmerstone.  Once she arrived in the magic realm the Caster's Alley task was gone.  My rewards UI is showing all tasks are complete so I guess it completed but I didn't get the animation in the UI task window?  

I'm having the same exact issue. I complete everything until "Travel to Caster's Alley" and after traveling to the magic realm via the portal the UI is blank. When I exit and reload the game it starts "The First Ingredient" quest from the beginning and every single time the UI disappeared, and it doesn't check of the goal for visiting Caster's Alley.

Actually no, the green bar went past the fish reward. Maybe I actually got the 100 points from the quest, but I can't know for sure because last week I had also gotten the extra points from the séance.

The point remains that after opening the letter from the Ambrosia Society, no message appeared in the upper right corner.

@DiOfficialQueenI have a similar issue. I traveled to Castor Alley, but the task didn’t check off. I traveled back to the HQ, and to some of the other realms (?), and traveled back to Castor Alley, and it’s still not checking off.

Edit: I had to catch the Angelfish first, before traveling to the magic realm, then it got checked off.

Same deal here. Nothing pops up when I read the newsletter & I can’t complete the task that tells me to travel to Caster’s Alley. The UI goes completely blank as soon as I get to the Magic Realm. I even tried making sure I caught the Angelfish before traveling to Magic Realm - no dice. I don’t get the 100 points. I had 365 points until the next reward after catching the Angelfish (but before traveling to the Magic Realm) & I still have 365 points until the next reward after traveling to the Magic Realm. Additionally, the “the First Ingredient” quest is not ticking off in the event tracker (unlike “Learning from the Lady” which did).

The Castor's Alley task disappeared as soon as I entered The Magic Realm.  Only "Fish with Bait" and "What is the 1st ingredient..?" question mark remained.  After I fished with bait and caught an Angelfish I got a notification that I had enough points to claim a reward.  I claimed the Batfish.  The UI said I completed this week's quests & to come back next week.  The Batfish is the only Reward I was able to claim this week and it said 65 points to next reward BUT I already had Grim's bicycle and the Trad Goth Boots.  I don't know how I was able to get them last week but as long as I haven't missed any rewards no harm done I suppose....  unless I was shorted points?  I don't know.  Now the little Grim Icon displays a message "Please wait and try again as the Gnomes try and fix the failure" I assume it will clear before Week 4 starts.  All - in - all the event is fun but more than a tad bit glitchy! :-)
