[ARCHIVED] Romantic and Friendship Changes in NH Stories have no effect

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.108.289.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? a lot
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game with "Romantic Changes" and "Friendship Changes" activated in Neighborhood Stories. Check the updates via the mailbox.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game reports other Sims starting dating or friendships, but if you then load into their household there is no relationship.
What do you expect to see? The Sims having relationships according to what Neighborhood Stories told me.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This is a new feature, so it appeared in the patch it was introduced in.

I tested this in an unmodded and new save for multiple in game days and checked multiple households.

The only exception I noticed were J Huntington III and Zoe Patel, but I assume their romantic relationship worked for them because they already live in the same household. Most Sims of course don't.

Seems as if relationship culling works against the game again...

noticed this too. It does nothing except jamming up my mailbox ( when I click "Check Neighbourhood Stories") so I had to turn it off.I don't want to click two times for a lie. It's not Neighbourhood Stories, it's Shukan Bunshun.

At this point I’m just confused… why implement this feature in the first place if it won’t work in 80+% of cases? It’s so disappointing that this is a dud since it has a lot of potential, especially for us console players who otherwise have a stagnant world.

still broken. still not fixed and I believe that you are not trying to fix it. the notification came that the Delgato's are divorced. the sim i played is upset that his friend is getting divorced on this notification. but they still look married even on the relationship panel. if you try to play, they get married.

I noticed this with breakups in Other Households.
I have Romantic Changes enabled for Other Households. In a game I recently started, I got notifications that Eric Lewis and Alice Spencer-Kim broke up, and that Tina and Yasemin Tinker broke up. But when I loaded those households, the couples still showed as married.

if notifications such as adoption, having a baby, or leaving a job, getting a new job come up, it really does happen. But if notifications like x became friends, date, or divorced come up, then, these never happen, when I look at them, they are not divorced, and if they report about friends or lovers, they do not know each other.

This is still not working. I would expect townies to make friends, date and actually break up and divorce if there is a notification in the mailbox about it. Furthermore there is no option for them to get married which is a big missed opportunity!

@Shakaibiftikhar It's quite limited since stuff like "Have a baby" doesn't make that much sense anymore after the first generation when there are only unmarried siblings in each household. Romantic changes would have been a step forward (if they worked). But I guess I had too much expectations for that.

Which stories are you missing? I usually turn off child adoption because that always escalates too quickly (and now I also deactivated the new romance and friendship stories) and I use an additional marriage story (a mod that I made myself). That works quite well for me to keep the worlds interesting.

I really love the neighborhood stories feature and I'm always excited to check the changes on the mailbox. But that's also why it makes me quite sad that this feature is so neglected...

@flauschtrud you are lucky because all my sims do in neighbourhood stories is rescue horses, cats, dogs and adopt children.
The neighbourhood stories is so broken that I have literally turned it off now.

@SimmerStar4Thank you for your reply, I just checked my game and all Neighborhood Stores options are available, see attached picture for reference. I have not yet had the time to check if the classic "turn it off and on again" works for this problem, but I will keep it in mind when I play the game again later.
