Never ever be amazed at what ever EA do
especially if it broken lol
This is a good example of something that was introduced and it needs tuning.
I love that Sims lose romance with their significant others it's good and it adds a bit of challenge and consequence to our gameplay we so desperately needed.
Currently though it definitely feels like it's not working as it really should. My main issue is that it really doesn't work well with rotational play. All my couples have been at full to near full pink bars and when I go back to switch to them they have lost romance and have terrible romantic satisfaction which has the double bad side effect of making Sims more likely to have negative reactions to interactions.
I wish there was a way to freeze relationships or maybe have happy couples stay happy when I switch households. Otherwise it becomes a tug of war of building those relationships back up again while fighting off autonomous insults and Sims being petty for no reason lol

@Bearpal64 I noticed this, too. I have eight households that I play rotational, one Sim week per household, and whenever I return to my main household, their romantic satisfaction has declined and the only thing that works is sending them on a date with tons of flirty interactions and woohoo. They both have almost maxed out their romance skill, too, so that makes things a little easier. It's still annoying because they are 100 % compatible, I made sure their turn-ons and turn-offs match, but it's still a lot of work. I try to tell myself that of course their satisfaction would decline if I deny them any interaction for seven Sim weeks, so of course they will have to work on it. It's not happening to all my couples, though, or at least not as fast as with these two.
