I have the same problem. The love bar is full, and then, even while sleeping, I receive messages that they are mean to each other and threatening to divorce. The love bar goes back to zero even if they do not interact with one another.
A SOLUTION THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
Posting this for everyone who's fed up with the ridiculously quick decay of relationships. TL:DR (too long didn't read), SheriGR posted a solution to add the "Beloved" trait to Sims in a relationship and at least for me (and them) it completely works and decay isn't an issue now.
I tried SheriGR's suggestion in post #77 to go into cheats and add the "Beloved" trait to my Sims and it works perfectly. No more decay, no more immediate "we're gonna divorce if you're mean to me". My Sims had gotten so bad that I would have them use a romantic function, like kiss, and then immediately I would see the pink jump into their romance bar, and then immediately start decaying, like visually decaying right there.
The cheat was super easy to use and you DON'T need to build their romance up first. You can have them in a relationship, and then use the cheat, and THEN you're able to build up their romance with no decay. This completely saved The Sims for me, I was truly about to abandon the game entirely.
Here is the post with the solution, I wish someone would post this as a top thread so that we can stop adding new posts stating we have this problem. It's already been tagged as an OPEN bug, so it's known, but at least we have this as a temporary solution. So far I've had no decay, and it's been a few weeks, and now I just keep receiving notes that they are very satisfied with their relationship.
I have this problem as well.. it is frustrating.. It decays while they are sleeping!
