Honestly, this rapid relationship decay is 100% imposing on the way that *I* want to play my game!
What I've gathered from reading the forums, is that the only way to combat this issue is to play Lovestruck's game features: Plan & go on dates, use the new interactions, and just revel in non-stop flirty interactions.
Translation: Sacrifice all your autonomous gameplay, so your Sims don't end up hating each other.
Dude, that's not how I like to play my game!! I don't find joy in micro-managing Sim relationships in any way. My gameplay joy stems from exploration, challenges, and personal goals — things that are now very hard (or even impossible) to dedicate my time to, without relationship repercussions.
Is this a bug that's going to be fixed soon, or are we now promoting sick, partner attachment as love? ... If so, I would argue that family, best friends, and partners don't suffer relationship decay out in the real world, because healthy love is limitless and patient.
It could be a worthwhile feature of the game to live up to the term 'soulmate' or 'BFF' by eradicating decay for those relationships entirely.
The developers should put an end to the rapid decay. Millions of us worldwide rotate play our Sims's households. To have all the relationships in all the non-current household decay over a couple of Sims's days is not a good thing. Instead of a few Sims' days, it should be a couple of Sims' months. We might want to play a Sim's household for Sims's week or so, to achieve aspirations, job promotions, skills, etc. To play the next household and find the lovers (married couples included) with broken hearts is not what I expected. You're right, it's not like that in real life. Relationship deterioration should not take place for the households which are not being played.
