[ARCHIVED] [SE] Mountain Excursion: Onsen Lot shows as generic Llama pic

@Neechan1 To be sure, you're still getting the issue with new save games or just the ones that are already bugged ?

Bit unsure cause you say this is to fix affected saves. If the fix didn't fix old saves but it's not happening in new save, this isn't really a new bug that needs reporting and is probably better of in another forum so just making sure you're not reporting this as still happening on new saves.

Sorry, I tried to make the original post as concise as possible, but I guess it still got confusing, sorry about that.

I only got this bug on older saves that were played more often, to the effect that it was my main save.

But if it was a save not touched on in a while, it doesn't even present itself on them, even on new saves within the latest patch (but the harmless bug of the llama being generic on the calendar is still present, even without mods. But that's for another topic)

I believe regardless of how rare this was, I should still report it because it was still a bug that affected the gameplay of an event and because the latest patch did nothing to fix it.

Since I made a few BU's of my main save, I was able to get back to when I was having this bug.

I attached a picture of what it did look like before I did what I did.

To mention, I could make an excursion, but once it was made and the time came, it brought you back to the world select, and if you try to play it or another family in the save while the group is in the void, it enters a loading screen for quite a bit, then states it failed to load and you should rest the game. If you try to play the game in this state it enters an endless loading screen, the only fix being to hard quit the game.

The LE.txt generated by the game gave this error

[manus] Error during shutdown of service zone_modifier_service. This will likely cause additional errors in the future. (KeyError: 'get_current_venue() Lot instance not found:')

Better exceptions report by tmex states this:

I know 3 party mods aren't usually a good source, but when both report the same issue, I figured i'd mention it

To answer the question at the end, it doesn't happen on new saves, only the generic llama on the calendar if you plan ahead, but that's a harmless bug. Don't know if it's worth reporting.

@Neechan1 It might be very difficult to fix it for existing saves so it's probably a trade-off

Leaving this to EA to decide if they want to look further into it.

Going to adjust your title to make sure it doesn't sound like a solution rather than a bug report for existing saves.

For the llama pic in the calendar, probably best if you make a separate report for that.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make a Sim plan mountain climb excursion social event through phone or calendar, select sims, and when you're about to select a location generic lot/llama icon will be greeting you.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game takes me to the 'manage world' screen without having my sims. If I click Sutefani Onsen Bathhouse, the options are either Build or Visit. If I select my Sims to visit the Onsen, the loading screen never ends and it crashes my game.
What do you expect to see? I want my sims able to successfully start mountain climb excursion.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

This bug has been going on for years. I stopped playing many times because of this, I read that it's fixed and so I started playing again. But apparently, it isn't.

@crinrict It's an existing save. I tried with a new save and unfortunately the same result.

I tested a few new saves and these were all fine for me (except a llama picture in the calendar).

Are you planning through calendar or phone ? Did you repair your game ?

When you tried a new save, did you try a new Sim ?

I tried once again with a new save & sim and it worked! Although I want to play it with my existing legacy save. What if I upload my existing sims and their house lot to the library, and start a new save? Will I be able to move them back again to my existing save without disruptions once I complete the excursion?

I tried to plan both through calendar and phone; and repaired my game but it didn't work with the existing save.

One of the two sims that I plan to send on the excursion is Mt. Komorebi local Kaori Nishidake, fiancee of my main sim. Their house lot is in Mt. Komorebi world as well. So even temporarily disabling the pack will affect their relationship and the relationship with the extended family. Probably won't affect her skills once I download her back from the library. I will look into this on the weekend when I have time.
