[ARCHIVED] Sim keeps getting asked if she likes gardening even after I say "no"

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.109.207.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except High School Years, Horse Ranch, Dream Home Decorator, and the Kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a sim do a lot of gardening while in a happy mood. Eventually you'll get asked if they like gardening. Say "no" and continue to garden.
What happens when the bug occurs? You will eventually get asked again if your sim like gardening, or dislikes gardening if you do it in a bad mood.
What do you expect to see? I expect the game to not ask me if I already gave the opt-out answer, which is how all of the other activities likes/dislikes work.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, but I removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? I think so? I remember gardening before without this happening repeatedly.
Please describe the patch or change you made. I think it might've been the October 2nd, 2024 patch for Reapers' Rewards, but am not sure.

When I look at the "No Opinion" trait for gardening in the XML File Finder utility tool for mod makers and select "Browse References" it looks like the "No Opinion" on gardening trait doesn't have any references in-game aside from the loot that gives sims the trait. All of the other "No Opinion" traits are part of the test sets for whether or not you get asked if your sim likes or dislikes the activity - preventing you from getting asked the question again. Gardening not working the same way is inconsistent and seems like a mistake to me, especially since I don't remember it working this way before.

I do hope they can fix this, I keep getting spammed with the gardening question because of the Reaper's Rewards quests. I don't want my sims to like or dislike gardening, it's just kind of a chore that they do.

    Usually, when you get asked if your sim likes or dislikes something, and you say "no," the game stops asking you. This works great for activities like dancing or mixology, where you don't want to get bugged about it over and over again. But with the Reaper's Rewards quests I've been doing a lot more gardening and I noticed that my sim keeps getting asked if she likes gardening over and over.

    This is kind of annoying, and inconsistent with other activities. I do not want her to like gardening, and I don't want her to hate it either.

    @onemorekayaker If you say no, it's just set to a neutral state and I do think that can be overwritten if you continue to do something a lot.

    Did you do other activities to the same extend after you declined it ?

    The way it's always worked for me is that if I say "no," the game stops asking me. I've done this for a lot of different activities, including dancing, cooking, fishing, etc. It used to work this way for gardening, too, pretty much since likes/dislikes were introduced.

    When you look at the all of the "SimPreference_N🤭pinion" traits in a tool like XML File Finder for The Sims 4 and browse references from other files, every other "Trait_SimPreference_N🤭pinion_Activities" is actually part of the test to determine whether or not you get asked. It was supposed to be an opt out to stop people from getting repeatedly blasted with questions.

    When I looked at the coding for gardening specifically, these tests are missing, and "trait_SimPreference_N🤭pinion_Activities_Gardening" doesn't have any references from any of the gardening activities like it should. I believe this is new with the Reapers' Rewards update.

    @onemorekayaker Could you please make this a proper bug report then and fill out the template in the bug forum ? If you are not prompted, just check one of the threads what the questions are and answer them.
