There should be enough information in all of those comments for EAxis to figure out what they broke and fix it.

It ain't underwear. It ain't any of the options that strip the sim. It ain't CAS. It ain't saving or loading.

Whatever controls automatic outfit switching is broken.

Is there any hope that EA is working on this?  Anyone have any clue? It’s been months

@nickinbigd    In all this time, there has been no feedback from EA that they have taken note of the bug and are working on a solution.
Instead, they seem to be only interested in selling new packs. Whether the game is playable or the customer has fun doesn't seem to interest them. I'm very disappointed.

I just noticed a new side issue related to this bug. Adult Sims will get naked regardless of the presence of children and teenagers. And no one reacts with shock or surprise.I guess because underneath the pixelation they aren’t really naked.

It gets worse if you have one try to suntan. They have the tan lines from the default underwear. 307 people had this problem, Me Too's all over the first post. Crickets from EA and Maxis.

This is incorrect but it might be a symptom of the larger issue. Underneath the mosaic censor they are in fact nude, or THEY WERE before this thing happened. It appears as though the Tags that define "NudeParts" are broken... or the Bathing/Nude outfit's definitions are broken. I can't say for certain. The way this triggers and the things it affects make no sense other than something very serious is broken and it's taking a bunch of other functions with it.

The only "BAND-AID" I can give you right now is an "underwear override" that overrides the hidden "NudeParts" to make them "DefaultForBodyType[X]". This will replace the default underwear in CAS and Live Mode with the "NudeParts" that are used when nude. You won't have to keep resetting your Bathing/Nude outfit with this and it should work for all sims including Target/NPC sims.

I don't think I'm allowed to share an "underwear override" here though, so if you want to find mine, you'll have to seek me out Elsweyr - "sejianismodding" should get you there.

There are a couple other band-aids I'm looking into also.

One is very invasive, and if I can achieve it, it will remove all automatic outfit switching in the game, which will have the undesired consequence of doing exactly what it sounds like it's gonna do, but hopefully it will have the desired effect of preventing an unbugged saved game from bugging out - this thing is saving to saved games and I have no idea if it's going to fix itself if EAxis ever fixes this.

Another I've already done, but I'm hesitant to share it publicly because it's possible that - again, if EAxis ever fixes this - it will result in another "underwear bug" upon removing it from the game. It has the same effect as an "underwear override" so.. I see no point in potentially causing more headache by sharing it since it's another "BAND-AID" and not a "BUGFIX".

@Mr_T_2024 - You might be right about them being drunk. With over 40 bars in the Creative Skills tab (making Mixology 1/3 of all the Creativity items), I've long suspected they might just be obsessive alcoholics. We have 1 Pipe Organ, 2 Journals, 4 or 5 Pianos, 3 Microphones, 4 Cameras. Name any Creative Skill and there's no more than single digit items for it, but more than 40 freaking bars! WHY!?

That's how I noticed it the first time.

I found a temporary fix:

That mod works with the commands stated. You will have to use the commands multiple times as it is not a permanent fix.

@WillBridger  As i wrote in Post #7 in this thread - Resetting the bathing outfit helps only for the session. It doesn't fix the issue. And I'm not sure you're doing your sims any good with the way this mod works. It is made for emergency cases when wrongly tagged CC breaks the bathing outfit.

I'm going to update my "underwear override" BAND-AID and give this some more attention, but I don't have an ETA on either. I'm wrapping up some other projects and still doing 1/14/2025 compatibility checks.

I haven't had a good play session since Feb-Mar 2024, and when I finally figured I'd take some time off from modding and play a little I came across this thread. Our bodies are broken, "automatic outfit switching" and whatever is going on with the "Bathing" outfit is broken, but hey! NEW KITS! REDESIGNED HOUSES! A ROADMAP OF CONTENT! ................................................

I've had this bug for months too. It's very visible if you play with a censor remover mod and I found it annoying very quickly that my sims skinny dip at the bluffs in their undies, so went to look for a fix. I have been using this mod (https://simfileshare.net/folder/21822/) for a while and it makes sims naked again. It's a default replacement for the black/pink CAS underwear (I think it's just transparent "pants/bra"). This means sims are always naked even in situations where they would wear underwear (sims are naked in CAS when you remove all their clothes, edit their tattoos and body hair etc), sims are naked when receiving massages at the spa (not in the sauna, because they wear towels there). If this doesn't bother you, while using this mod at least pc players can have naked sims again (no tan lines when sunbathing in the nude too!). Just putting this here in case some of you find this a helpful solution until the bug gets fixed.

Indeed, an "underwear override" is the most effective band-aid.

I haven't kept track of the dates but there have been at least 4 updates to The Sims 4 since October. The most recent was just a week or so ago. Although I see 19 pages of user comments on this forum the problem still has not been addressed by the developers of the game.

Today this site asked me to take a survey on my experience with AnswersHQ. I told them I was dissatisfied and that it was all a bunch of chatter if the EA game developers never look at or respond to it.

I've logged this error three times from within the EA app, I've tried repairing the game a few times and uninstalled and reinstalled the game once. I'm not interested in fixes from the user community; I just don't have the energy. I just want to play the game with the gameplay I'd become accustomed to. BTW, they also :"deprecated" the cheat for free real estate with the October update, but that's for another thread. Looking at naked cartoon people isn't important to me, it's the lack of response from the developers that encourages me to finally find something else to do. They could at least let us know they're working on it or that it's a permanent change to the game for the sake of children who play and figured out how to turn off the pixelation.

@CptAhab77  Communication is the key. And this is also important in a forum. EA decided against a ticket-system where you can send a mail and get an answer. They made it this way. That's ok in general, but they still should give their customers regular feedback. This forum is for bug-reports and if they would write "we were able to reproduce the problem and can confirm it is a bug and we are trying to fix it". people would be patient. I reported this bug in October and in November a Community-Manager wrote that he forwarded it to the team (which is great but not in all threads you get this messages). But i still don't know if anyone of the devs is working on it or if it even made it's way on a "ToDo-List".

Regarding your "free real estate cheat" - They released updated versions of some houses of the basegame in the galery with the latest update and for one of them i used this cheat to place it. so i think it is still working.

I still hope for a soon fix. It breaks the gameplay because the behavior of the sims changed, some interactions don't make sense that way and it also looks ugly even under the censor grid and i think it has to do with changes for the life & death occult cas stuff.
