I really don't have any clue about why does the Sim just leaves the world, but just as a hypothesis, maybe it's a mixture of two bugs: the one you linked (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-SAVES-Sims-wandering-off-with-no-action-queued-to-perform/td-p/10666356) and also this following one in which the player can't select their Sims: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-SAVES-Can-t-switch-between-Sims/td-p/13907460/page/7. I think it could be also related to the second topic because when there are a lot of interactions pending it also takes a long time to select a Sim (about 45 s or more) and the game time passes without the Sims moving or actually doing any interaction (but in my case, instead of staying still, sometimes they just move infinitely to a direction).
in any case, if you believe it should be merged, I think it can be merged to any of those topics; but I do believe it's more related to the one you linked first.
