That means they fixed PartFlags on some CAS items, removing improper Restrict Opposite Gender flags. Unfortunately, there appears to be no communication between the Sims team and I'm certain the next EP will ship with more incorrect and improper PartFlags, regardless of the innumerable number of Bug Reports about this over the past 10 years. Every pack with CAS items has shipped with incorrect and improper PartFlags, from Base Game to Lovestruck. The only content release that was almost PartFlag perfect was Happy At Home and that turned into a 3-month fiasco of lost reward items.
The Deformer Maps are still broken.
This major distortion/deformity is caused by the 18 broken Deformer Maps, but improper ROGender flags are rampant in CAS and cause the issue to show while you're wearing CAS clothing items that are improperly ROGender flagged. If you're wearing frame-appropriate clothing, you won't see the broken Deformer Map distortion, this is why there isn't a flood of complaints about this. Cisframe sims won't encounter this issue as often as transframe sims do because improper ROGender flags don't affect them the way it does transframe sims and make the broken Deformer Maps blatant and in your face. If everyone was seeing this 100% of the time and complaining about it, it would've been fixed months ago.
ROGender forces your sim to wear the CAS item that matches your Gender (Sex) AKA Female or Male. It directly conflicts with our ability to change our Physical Frame and is only necessary in specific circumstances with specific items. In a "binary" Female/Male system, a flag like ROGender is fine to toss around, but with a "non-binary" system, it's a problem.
ROFrame forces your sim to wear the CAS item matching your Physical Frame. It is also only necessary in specific circumstances with specific types of CAS items.
Having neither ROGender or ROFrame with PROPER Clothing Preference flags allows simmers to choose to wear whatever they want, regardless of the minor crotch and neck deformities we use to see before they broke the Deformer Maps in 7/23/2024, giving us what we see now. On a side note, this means that the minor crotch and neck deformities we use to see on transframe sims wearing frame-inappropriate clothing is actually fixable by modifying the Deformer Maps. One of these fine days I'll commit to learning how modify Deformer Maps.
This is why you're no longer seeing it on some items. I hope the explanation was coherent. One of these fine days I will finish my big write-up on this.
As they PartFlag-fix more CAS items, the issue will appear less, however, all you have to do to verify if the Deformer Maps are fixed or not is to strip your transframe sim in CAS and voila, there's the 18 broken Deformer Maps at work.
The 18 broken Deformer Maps is literally a 3.26 MB / 7.92 MB PACKAGE / RAW fix.
They could push this in an SDX at any time!
Just wanted to confirm that Sejian's deformer map fix works perfectly.
The way clothes work across frames need a complete revamp. imo, every clothing item should have two separate meshes; the morphing thing just doesn't cut it most of the time. They've already got to be able to fit whatever shape the frame is taking on--it's not surprising that additionally pushing them to warp to a frame they weren't designed for is going to cause distortion.
