What do you expect to see? Reach Level 5 Painting Skill 5/5 Job Promotion
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Simply she keeps gaining skill in painting but does not get credit for it in her job. It does however reflect in her skill list. The Daily task updates just fine.

Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title to better reflect the issue

my sim started out by directly choosing his career in food critic (because he has a college degree). and although she is max in skill, the game doesn't see it. it's the first time i've ever played a critic career, i do not know that this bug maybe always had. i tried to remove the modes, but it did not work. i just expected my job performance to be full. although promotion task skill was missing, my sim was able to get a promotion. after my sim got a promotion in her career, game started to see skill.

  • Thank you! I tried it and she did get promoted and it was exactly as you said. More of an annoyance but at least my sim can advance. Thank you!

after some testing, I've discovered that the issue starts after selecting the stylist branch of the style influencer career (haven't tested to see if the issue occurs on the trend setter branch) and it seems to be a visual glitch as my test sim still got promoted even with the UI not showing it as completed (she did have the skills needed, it just wasn't showing that she did in the job panel)

Additionally, it seems to be a visual glitch on whichever skill is completed last (on one test, the photography skill was glitched as not complete and in another it was the painting skill)

And if the sim already has the required skill level upon getting to that promotion task list, there is no visual glitch (did a test run with all the skills maxed and had no visual glitch)

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Not completely sure. I haven't played this family in a while.

My sim was shown to be missing the writing skill needed for promotion when, in fact, she did have the skill needed. So I manually promoted her with cheats only for the next level to also have the same issue, but with the painting skill
