You can just click me too on existing threads if you have the same issue as someone else. It's easier to keep track for Maxis if there's just one thread per issue.

There’s been no update since November on this thread. And no hint at a problem being solved.
- crinrict3 years agoHero+@capnmaria It's still an open issue so just adding to this thread is fine. Would also be good if you send your save to SimsDirect as asked above.
- Gingerxyz4 months agoRising VanguardJust happened to me. Twin teens, both aged up to YA without a cake, no pop up came up for either of them, no opportunity to select traits/aspiration/etc. Wouldn't have known anything happened if I didn't hear the birthday chime.
Thinking it was a glitch related to them being forced to age up by running out of time, I used fulleditmode to age them back down to teenagers and tried aging them up again with a birthday cake. Same thing happened with both. Didn't happen when either of their older siblings aged up to YA, but I think(?) it happened when their brother aged up from YA to Adult the ingame day before? I just didn't really pay attention because there's no trait or aspiration changes for that birthday so it didn't really matter.
At first I thought it might be related to this latest pre-life and death patch, because these 3 birthdays are the first ones in my game since that patch, and birthdays were working fine for me at the previous patch level (they have an infant niece who got the pop up just fine), but now I see it appears to be a much older glitch?
Anyway, yeah, here to say Me Too, and ask if there's any way to stop it doing this or do I just have to abandon that household now?- YazPlatt4 months agoRising Adventurer
Me Too: I am having varying results with aging my sims up. Playing 100 baby challenge which means all my sims age up once they meet the eligibility in the challenge rules, always before their calendar-assigned birthday. Every sim (except the babies) ages up with the cake, and all except 3 of my teens have turned into Young Adults without their third trait, no selection possible. I do not know why the three that had trait selection pop-up were the exceptions, and I do not know why the majority of my teens have no trait selection.
I have manually entered cheats to modify in cas (testingcheats true --> cas.fulleditmode --> shift + click on sim to Modify in Cas) to assign the missing third trait. None of them have the additional traits available with Growing Together, so there should not be anything preventing the third trait being selectable. I am currently playing with no mods or cc, and this was a fresh save at the time of starting the challenge.

This is happening to me too at first I was able to fix it with my main save by creating a whole new save but now that’s not even working! I play on the PlayStation 5

I just had this problem too, with an A student who was also at level 3 of an after school activity.
This is the first time I've had the issue, and the last time I aged up a teenager (a couple of weeks ago) I didn't have any problems.

I found the cause of this problem. It's all about the high school achievement checkbox, if there is one, then the sim does not get the third trait. I hope my answer is clear and can help someone. I do not know English and will send with an interpreter.- 3 years ago
I partially understand. Which achievement checkbox?
- 3 years ago@капнмария Progress tick. If your character is different and has a high level of realizability with a tick, then he probably won't get the third trait. The day of the week can also be used. Never do this on a Sunday.

Almost two years since you said this and it's STILL an issue..... I've aged up two sims from teen to adult this week and got no third trait.

@FeliciaJane1203 This workaround is my least favorite bandage since it only addresses the third trait, but I believe if you do the following you can add the sim's 3rd trait via the cas.fulleditmode cheat, after aging from teen to young adult:
- Activate testing cheats
- Activate the CAS full-edit mode cheat by adding this in the cheat box and pressing enter:
cas.fulleditmode - If that doesn't work for you it's laid out more step-by-step here.
Then, after you have activated the cheat, you can open the teen in CAS (just right click the teen or use a mirror), and you should see a blank third trait on them that you can choose to fill.
