I can report the same issue. Furthermore, if you're trying to make a spellcaster baby with supernatural eyes, the moment you're clicking another family member, the baby's eyes change to some random color. It does not happen with the new eye color from the event.
I tested this with spellcasters and vampires, prior to completing the event. All my spellcasters changed to some regular eye color, except for the one who had white eyes. Hers stayed the same.
My vampire wouldn't retain his features, but I had him turn his kids into vampires as teens and somehow they managed to keep their vampire features and eyes. So far.
I tried checking after completing the event and the eye and skin details problem remains. Except for the ones with white eyes, which I guess would be the same ones we got from the event. I was hoping the event was the cause of this problem and would clear up once it was completed but it didn't. I tested without CC and mods.
