I have been having this issue for quite some time now. It’s not something that stops the ability to play the game, however it ruins the game so much so that people will not want to continue to play it. It breaks the characters features and ruins their entire appearance. I’ve had several characters who started out just fine, even ones being born with the supernatural eyes, and all of a sudden it changes their eyes to a random color for no reason at all. Then you basically want to remove that sim from your current family home immediately, which just ruins your head cannon, or whatever storyline you were trying to fulfill! Please, please, please, and also very much so PLEASE fix this silly BUG!!! And also THANK YOU for all that you do to make this game WORK!!!!!
@Adevil19I wouldn't go so far as claiming this doesn't stop us from playing , as this bug has the potential to corrupt our saves beyond repair even when the bug is fixed.
The only way you can safely play is by starting a new save. Which I'm not interested in at all, I'm playing my save since 2014.
@rostsit I completely agree with you, my intention was to say this bug will definitely stop players from wanting to continue to partake in playing the game whatsoever as it ruins the characters you’ve created. I also have been playing the same save since close to the release and would not be interested in starting a new save. Too much that’s been established over time which is why I’m hoping for a patch that corrects the entire save as well as the issue, but I understand where you’re coming from. I’m also not sure if you saved your households and tried to make a new save with them if the bug would carry over which I’m really not interested in what so ever.
@rostsit The bit I said about not being able to play the game meant the sort of bug that possibly stops the game from loading up or something like that and won’t allow you to actually play the game at all. So “it doesnt stop you from being able to play the game” in that sense but it does make you uninterested in wanting to continue to play because asthetics are important as well.
@Adevil19aesthetics, the story and the whole world that YOU have created. Of course also immersion and your whole investment with the game. All gone.
I'm seeing this post has already 34 pages and a lot of comments and nobody from EA offered any solution for this bug 🤦🏼♀️. And the last update was just a couple weeks ago
@anonymuser45Sorry to scare you, but it is what it is. You've described it yourself.
I believe fixing this bug retrospectively is far beyond the capabilities and competence of the current development team. It is just technically too difficult considering how the game and saving process work.
Once you've saved the game after the October update - that's it, there is no way back, only manual fixing. This is what I mean by "save corruption". Maybe this is not quite technically correct, as the save still works, but all your sims with occult features are "corrupted" beyond (automatic) repair.
That's why I told people in this thread more than once to keep backups of their saves prior to the patch (or just to not play the game if you don't want to loose progress).
So that means that repairing this bug will damage all the occult sims (or worse, it could delate all of them)?
