After the latest update promised that kids won't disappear after being taken away by a social worker.
Long story short: I neglected an infant, she got taken away and appeared in "Manage households".
I merged her household with another one and everything seemed fine.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to play her as an active sim. Her icon is faded ( as if she was at daycare or not on the lot), I can't see her needs and I can't interact as her ( going night night, smiling, using diaper,etc.)
I tried repairing the game and it didn't help.
Maybe someone has an idea.

This happened to me as well. No matter what I did, the kids were forever stuck "at daycare" and probably would be forever. Moving, evicting, traveling, nothing worked. When they got taken away from my household, they ended up as homeless and I moved them in with their father who lived across town. They were bugged in his household and bugged when I moved them all into my own household. I tried everything I could think of to make them playable again and was almost ready to give up on this save.
My workaround was to make copies of the toddlers, delete them and replace them with the copies and use MCCC to reconnect them to their parents. So maybe this workaround is an option for the time being.
