Child sim was taken away from original family by social work and per the update went into the household gallery - I placed with a new family as foster parents but now playing as this family the children are greyed out and I cannot play from their POV, although the adults can interact with them.

I've been trying to use the new feature introduced in the latest patch, which allow infants/toddlers/kids to be saved and taken away when not looked after, which will let them end up in manage households as single-member household, exceptionally, as supposed.
The buggy part is when you transfer this abandoned kid back into a household: they will appear greyed out and inactive.
Attached, you find:
1- a video of an infant taken away and reunited with the same household
2- a video of a kid taken away and reunited with another household (you can see in here the interaction "accogli melissa nell'unità familiare", i.e. "welcome melissa into the family")
I'm not using mods or CC when testing this out.
And for this test, I used a new save.
After the last update in which the babies/ toddlers/ children who get whisked away due to neglect and now appear in the gallery are not playable after I transferred them to another household. I have tried moving the family in and out and between different lots and every time I play, the only Sim who is playable is the adult but not the kids. The kids appear gray and I can't click on them.
I was excited for the update because essentially it means the kids who get taken away don't just disappear anymore, but can be "adopted" into a new family via transfer. However, seems there's a bug.
Does it happen to anyone else?
My game is completely up to date (the most current version as of March 31st, 2025 - I included a screenshot of the version number with the rest of my attachments), I own every pack, and I do not play with CC or Mods. I had a Sim get taken away (I had a toddler in a high chair and did not see a notification that she was hungry, but that's unimportant at the moment). I grabbed her from the manage households and returned her to my household, but I can no longer click on her.
When I looked this up in the bug reports, I saw this was reported 6 months ago but it was closed after it was tested for kids being alone after dying, but the report was about being alone after being neglected (which is the problem I am also having). I copy and pasted the exact title from that bug report.
On top of her being grayed out and making it impossible to control her, everything that should allow me to interact with her does not, outside of clicking the child and toddler care directly. I cannot click on the high chair to feed her, the toddler beds to put her to sleep, or the bathtubs to give her a bath or bubble bath. Even when I try to have her parents take care of her using the toddler care button, it is hit or miss whether or not they actually take care of the toddler.
I tried having one of her other family members adopt her as a caregiver as well as moving her out and moving her back into the household and neither thing worked. I tried going into CAS, too -- I can edit her, but not play her. I also tried saving the game and reopening it. She is still grayed out and unplayable.
I was experimenting with this today. Had a infant, toddler and child taken from a household. I then located them in manage households and moved them in with their dads. The child is playable. The infant and toddler, which were moved into a separate household, are not playable at all. I have moved them around to other households and they are still not selectable in any of those. Their portraits are just greyed out.
