I've had the "lose progress after travel" version of this bug for a while now, but recently (possibly after the latest patch, but I'm not sure) ANY attempt to resume a previously started book (haven't tested with song writing yet) restarts from the beginning. My sim took a break to use the toilet--no switching lots, no quitting the game from me--and when she went right back to work on the book she'd been almost finished with, the progress bar was back to zero :/
I'm having this issue too, and I've noticed it isn't just when THAT sim travels. If I travel with the Daughter to HS and go back to the Father the song is reset. Really aggravating. Here's to hoping it's fixed with the infant update tomorrow?
