Write Song / Book / Lyrics Loses Progress

That only happens to me if the Sim has gone through a loading screen. Resuming a book works okay as long as I haven't traveled to another lot, gone into CAS, gone into Manage Worlds, exited and then reloaded the save, etc. 

This started after downloading the most recent update/Life and Death expansion pack.

When I have my sim write a book it doesn’t save progress. It doesn’t matter if I stay on the same lot, as soon as I have them stop for any reason, when they sit back down to write it restarts the progress. The only way I have been able to finish a book is by making them stay from start to finish.

I posted in a Facebook group and some other people are having issues with certain craft projects and songwriting as well.

I've had the same experience as Sketch793 since 2024. But not just with writing songs or writing books. It also happens to reading a book or watching a movie. Popcorn and coffee also reset, so they never spoil. It seems any time you go through a loading screen that the whole house resets, and you lose progress on anything and everything.

I play on PC. No mods or CC - never installed them. 

composing a song on guitar starts and never advances. 

Whenever I start writing a book or a song in game the progress resets when I that sim, or another sim in the household leaves the lot to go to work, another sims house, goes on a date, etc. 

I don't have this issue on a violin but I do on guitars. I've tried every single guitar. My poor Sim is really struggling to finish a song. She keeps ending up with the dazed moodlet from too much creativity. If I stop though, I can't go back because she starts over from the beginning!

Honestly: until this is fixed (yeah yeah, we all know it will never be as EA doesn't give a **bleep** about its players/customers) the only workaround is to get a vampire character, as it is very low maintenance (doesn't need sleep, which helps fenominally in achieving a written song/book in one sitting :D) and getting everyone experiencing this bug to upvote this topic.

I seem to be able to resume books - at first they look like they're starting from the beginning - but then they catch up.

Songs resume from the near the beginning and never catch up. They seem stuck, but they do eventually finish. Writing 4 songs for the Musical Genius Aspiration is painful. 

Mine starts completely from the start. And for me it also applies for lyric writing and knitting too. Im not sure about book writing or others.
