[ARCHIVED] Write Song / Book / Lyrics Loses Progress

I have the same issue, but without traveling or anything.
I'll have my Sim write a book  (Children's book or Short Stories tried out so far) on their computer. If I cancel the task to have my Sim do something else, like going to the bathroom, or just stopping to pet a dog (or browse art), the progress on the book is reset and they'll have to start all over again.

This bug occurs with another bug where doors can't be locked for specific types of pets, my chicken keep escaping their pen and the dogs ignore the door too.

There was no patch or newly added extension occuring, only the update to the new EA app. Haven't played for a while and only picked the game back up a couple of days ago. This issue was never there before (I had Sims regularly write books before). It's a newly created household and Sim. Can't currently verify if the bug occurs with older households where writing has previously worked

Game version: Sims 4
World: Evergreen Harbor, household is 1 Sim and 3 dogs. Chicken came later, so likely unrelated
