I have seen suggestions of Mods to fix this issue, but I've been avoiding Mods except for MCCC.
I have found the best way to write without loosing progress is to begin writing plenty of time before you stop playing
Sims 4 for the day. Then make sure that your Sim has full green bars in all areas before starting.
The Sim may stop for eating and potty breaks but NO ONE in your family can travel to another lot.
Writing songs takes a very long time, so when their NEEDS deplete, I will also do the Cheat on the Sim where you can
MAKE HAPPY and all of their green bars are full again.
You have to plan ahead before attempting to WRITE a song/book/lyric/etc.
The KEY to making this work is to begin the task and end the task in one gaming session.
Same here, I had my sims write a song with the violin and it resetted in both of these situations:
1- Travelling to another lot and coming back.
2- After reloading the game. I had my sim write a song, save and close the game. The next day when I came back to the game, immediately in the same household, the song had resetted.
I’ve had this bug for years now, there are so many musical instruments in the game and it ruins it for me so rarely play with them now…
I thought I’d already me too-ed this back when growing together was released…might have been a post about the creative reward trait you could get from completing one of the new children’s aspirations (can’t remember what it’s called now) not making a difference to the time it took to write songs plus the fact progress kept being lost on writing the song…the trait was supposed to enable the aim to write books songs etc faster…
don’t understand why it takes so much longer to write a song than it does to write a book, paint or pretty much any other creative activity in the game anyway, so I remember being excited about a trait that would make songwriting faster! But it’s another mechanic in the game that doesn’t work…
I am playing on Xbox so no mods or C.C., song writing resets it you save quit and reload or if the sim has to leave the lot…It takes literally an entire sim day to write a song but can be done in one sitting if all needs are full before beginning…which makes it incredibly boring espesh if you don’t have other sims in the household to play and very frustrating cause it limits song writing to days off work…and you can’t travel off the lots with any other household member whilst one sim is songwriting..
I can’t believe it’s still not fixed!!!
