There had been some improvement on the book writing bug I believe, the Sims could resume writing the book from previous stopping point as long as they didn't travel.
I've noticed since the most recent update that my Sims is now restarting the book again when they go to resume.
Yes, since the Sept 2024 update my sims are now 'resuming' writing a book from the very beginning rather than from their partial progress if they do not write it all in one session. My current sim is trying to write a mystery. He could partly write it and then resume it fine before the update and now he can't. Not being able to resume writing songs was there before the update. Also, not being able to resume knitting was there before the update too. Annoying!
Not sure when this started for me but I also note that resuming writing of sheet music (and books) restarts progress 100% of the time. It pretty much breaks this activity given how long it takes to write a piece of music.
