[BY DESIGN] [DU] Enroll on Sunday --> Class start time out of sync

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.58.63.1010
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Enroll your sim into university on a Sunday
What happens when the bug occurs? Class schedule states that class is to begin on Monday (the next day) at a certain time but the sentence above states that class is in 4 days. Monday comes and the term has still not started and the sim can't go to class even though the schedule says they have a class at that time.
What do you expect to see? I expect the sim to be able to start the term and go to class when the schedule says they should.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I enrolled my sim in University on a Sunday. As you can see in the picture I uploaded it states that their first class will start the next day, on Monday, so therefore should state the class starts in 1 day or so, but instead, it says it starts in 4 days. I kept playing and when Monday came, the term did not start and the sim could not go to class eventhough the start time came and went. So then the actual first class they attend and also when the game will trigger the start of the term is on Tuesday. I've tried everything to see what might be wrong. I took out all mods and CC, cleaned caches, varied the amount of classes to be taken for the term, and played around with settings and the like, but all were the same result. The only work around I've found to work is to enroll them on Saturday, and then the term triggers as it should and they can attend class on Monday. I don't know if this might be by design or a true bug, but it's lousy either way.

  • I can confirm this is by design. The term starts on Tuesday so that you have 7 days instead of 5 days to get all your Uni work and experience in. The "Class in X days" statement should be accurate.

  • I did initially and thought that might have been the problem so I took out all mods and cc, cleared cache, repaired the game just in case, then started a whole new save game with a new family and tested several times. All had the same results.

@Coulyndav So I tested this and I can confirm that I see the same thing.

I am however not sure if this is a bug or design choice.

Did you have any negative effects on the grades because of it ?

  • So I get that this is by design, but still I have my two cents I'd like to add: When a term starts on Tuesday and the exams are on Monday, that means the term ends Monday at 6, and you have exactly from 6 until sim-bedtime to do at least the homework for the next day, which amounts to 2x 2 hours. Yes you could theoretically do it in the morning, but my sim often has her classes at 08:00 and 09:30, so that would be a huge luck-in-planning factor.

If your term would start on Monday, it would end on Friday at 6 am, and you would have the whole weekend to prepare for the next term. I get that you as devs see preferable situations by getting the weekend before the exam, but in my humble opinion it should be enough that the player is aware of not being able to cram in the weekends, and if they are willing to accept that then they should be able to start on a Monday. After all it's their game that is affected, and there are plenty of guides to plan your studying career well.

I would appreciate it very much if you would consider this when rolling the next round of patches for this pack, thank you very much!

On a side note, if anyone knows of a mod that does this, can you please let me know in PM? Thanks a lot!
