[DU] [GTW] Craftable robots are free when purchased at retail
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.70.84.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything but Batuu.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a retail store with Get to Work. Find craftable robots in the debug menu and place them in the store. With the active storeowner, mark them as "for sale." Switch to another household and buy the robot.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is no sales price, so the Sim can get the robot completely free.
What do you expect to see? The sales price to be the same or higher than the amount a Sim earns from selling the robots at the robotic workstation.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I noticed something a bit strange when designing a retail store - it looks like the craftable robots from Discover University don't have sales prices in build and buy, which means that they don't have sales prices in the retail shops from Get to Work. However, you can still list them as being "for sale" and Sims shopping at retail stores can "buy" them and get them for free. Is this a bug or more of an oversight? It looks like you can sell crafted robots at the robotics workstation, but not any other way.
I don't usually have active Sims run retail stores, but I enjoy building new ones and having my Sims shop there sometimes. So I figured a high end electronics store would be selling the craftable robots, maybe for a high markup, but that my Sims would be able to buy these things and activate them at home and have them work.
It seems like either a bug or a design oversight - craftable robots should either have prices when sold at retail stores, or shouldn't be able to be listed for sale in stores in the first place. That right now Sims are able to get them basically for free is a bit immersion breaking.
