I am having an issue with Sims not being able to clear dishes. When they eat at a table it's not possible for me to click on the empty dish and have them clear it because a message pops up saying a bin or sink is required. I can fix it by having them move away from the table and then click on the dishes and the clean up option is available again. It's not a huge problem because the Sims are likely to do it autonomously most of the time anyway, but it is getting a bit irritating! (No mods and some CC) although I will test in an unmodded game.

I think I know what you mean. I've had this for a while now. But for me, it sometimes just help clicking on the dish a few times. The option always shows up eventually I'll add this though. Could you provide your save game ? Especially if it's reproducible (cause for me it's not, it's hit and miss)

I just tested with a vanilla game and there was no problem. The 'clear away' option was always available. But then while playing the Pancakes household (in the vanilla game), after inviting the new neighbours inside the 'throw away' option was greyed out, and the need sink or bin message popped up. I think it has something to do with eating outside, although all the lots have outside bins. Or it might have something to do with the big table - I remember there was an issue in the early days with one of the long dining tables that was preventing Sims from clearing dishes, maybe that bug has come back for the big 6 seater round table. Or maybe it's the welcome wagon (and that fruit cake!) I stopped the save with the dishes still on the table (Mr & Mrs Pancakes) The save zip is 2.73 MB - I've tried to upload it 3 times but it's obviously too big, sorry (edit) - you can ignore all of those suggestions! You're right it's random. Back in my original save game, some of the household have 'clear up' greyed out, others have 'throw away' greyed out for the same dirty dishes on the same table. But as I mentioned most often they clear up themselves anyway, so it's not that big a deal.

Could you provide your save game ? Especially if it's reproducible (cause for me it's not, it's hit and miss)

I've tried and it works fine. So it's one of these hit and miss glitches ☹️

Does the game throw any lastexceptions for you ?

My sims wont even path to clean dishes. My sims inventory is flooded with plates. I was so happy to come back after the toddler patch but this is unbearable. Why was this never fixed after 2 years???

Can you not simply delete them ? Sounds like a totally different issue.

Are you using mods/cc ?
