Fertilizer not adding quality

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.95.207.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Vampires, Tiny Living, Seasons, Realm of Magic, Jungle Adventure, Get together, Holiday Celehbration, Get to Work, City Livinv, Bonus content.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Trying to fertilize plants whenever possible.
What happens when the bug occurs? I fertilize the plant, animation happens, item gets consumed, quality of plant stays the same. (plants also often revert to dirt)
What do you expect to see? An increase in quality. (plant not reverting to dirt)
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

First of I know that there is a huge thread relating to plants reverting to dirt but i think this is different; this has to do with fertilizer not doing anything. Attached is a save file of a couple trees outside the home, the culprits in question are the two growfruit trees ( that have different qualities becasue of this exact bug happening before). When trying to fertilize them with growfruit or any other fertilizer they will often revert to dirt and get no quality OR stay adult and get no increase in quality aswell

I've tried many things; like saving before fertilizing and reloading saves and trying to fertilize again. Restarting the game before. Moving the tree in and out of family inventory before and after fertilizing. Moving trees into inventory, traveling to different neighbourhood, traveling home, placing and then fertilizing. All resulting in 0 increase in quality.

The money tree on the same save has had the issue of reverting to dirt aswell but the fertilizer has worked last time i tried, also moving it in and out of family inventory has sometimes reverted it to the correct growth stage.

A couple of side notes; i only just got the green thumb reward trait and this happened before and after getting it. The trees on the lot have NEVER had any insects happen and very RARELY had weeds, infact even watering almost never has to happen. This might be because of the micro home lot traits or its related to the other bug. The sim has been a wizard since creating and has traveled around a lot.

  • How long have you waited to see if the plant is ready to evolve and what is the value (in simoleons) of the fertilizer you are using? I find that unless the fertilizer has a value of higher than 50 simoleons, it can take some time before it is available to evolve. I find if I use something very valuable, such as a dragon fruit or expensive fish, it will be ready to evolve almost immediately. I too play with spellcasters, and often on a tiny home residential lot.

    Best regards,
    Jennifer

It has varied a lot on how long i've waited. At times I accepted there was no increase and just let it be, and it never came. Other times it would arrive almost immediately. I'm using exclusively 50+ value items such as Roses or Grow Fruit. I'll try with some really expensive items to see if it's faster/slower.

  • @Beninow Nope, using high value as items has not changed anything. Nothing happens to quality, even after 24hrs.
Also reseting cache, repairing game. None of it changed anything

@crinrict I don't think the first issue you linked is the same but it could be. In that thread they are reporting that its going incredibly slow ( which mine are aswell) but right now even if i add fertilizer nothing at all happens. Theres bees next to the tree, im feeding it the best fertilizer possible, its in season and outdoor and yet there is no quality added at all, even after waiting.
The 2nd link is probably the same tho, i've had to water my plants maybe once and thats it. I even removed my sprinkler to see how often they would need it and watering happened maybe once.

@Beninow The quality isn't auto-added though. You need to evolve it. Fertilizing just helps getting evolve faster.

So it's about not getting the evolve interaction ?

@crinrictYes i know that, but in order to evolve it has to reach that point on the bar. What i'm saying is that the bar is not moving at all, even after fertilizing. This bar is what i mean with quality.

The evolve itself is working, and progresses the plant to the next stage. (my plants got up to excellent but that took a VERY long time because fertilizing is so inconsistent)
