[FIXED] Constant kitchen fires with fear of fires trait

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? I dont know
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? highschool
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure
What happens when the bug occurs? washing machine or dryer and cooker constantly go on fire.
What do you expect to see? not go on fire everytime i use it.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. could be the last two updates or the highschool expansion

This is absolutely maddening. I've had to Rosebud my character Simoleons to replace the appliances. I don't have anything in my kitchen I haven't had in there a million times before. I just can't figure out what going on.


This has been driving me mad for a few updates now. Every time they cook on the bbq or stove it catches fire.

the sims now have a fear of fire which I can’t get rid off.

    Same issue. my sims all have a fear of fire now and im afraid they are going to die because of it. Its insanely infuriating. cooking or doing laundry starts them. I hate it

    I have exactly this issue but with a child. He cathes fire all the time. It started with a campfire, last time it happened it was the toilet that caught fire and him as well. They dont have fear of fire. House is in a quakezone.

    Same here, every 3-4 day the stove catch fire and i have top replace it $ 1500,00 plus, it's not funny any more.

    All sims are cooking level 5 or higher, stove is troweback stove.

    So how I fixed this is I used the cheat codes to get more satisfaction points and then bought the Brave trait from the rewards store and this fixed it completely! Hope this helps

    Finally got a friend to try Sims 4, they're super excited to play. Brand new install, brand new game, no mods, only base game in starter lot in Willow Creek, and literally every time they try to cook something the stove catches on fire. No fear of fire trait at first. Friend is very frustrated that they can't make money in the game because they have to replace the stove multiple times a day. At this point, the sim got to level 7 cooking, and it's still happening for every meal.

    Hola.

    Muchas gracias,  lo pondre en práctica, a ver si a mí también me funciona. Cierto que llevo mucho tiempo con incendios constantes y es un rollo porque los Sims se bloquean muchas de las veces.

    I’m losing it. EVERY time a sim cooks now in my save file, there’s a fire. It’s been like 7 times in a row now.
