[FIXED] Distorted Textures on One-Tile Gable Roofs

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.305.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get Together Strangerville
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just create a one-tile gable roof (either diagonal or normal) and try to apply a wall texture on it. The texture would look distorted with shifted colors. The problem disappears when making the gable roof two-tiles wide or wider.
What happens when the bug occurs? The wall part of the one-tile gable roof is distorted. The color of the texture is shifted.
What do you expect to see? The normal wall texture in one-tile gable roofs.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Since the recent Sims 4 update (Update 07/18/2023)

Since the recent Sims 4 update (Update 07/18/2023), I've encountered a troubling issue with the textures on one-tile gable roofs, both normal and diagonal. They now appear horribly distorted and the colors are noticeably shifted, making it challenging to identify the original textures. Strangely, this problem seems to be limited to one-tile gable roofs, as two-tile-wide roofs or wider remain unaffected. As a builder who frequently incorporates dormers into my houses, this has become a significant concern for me, as it affects the visual appeal of my creations.

It's essential to mention that I am not using any mods, just the base game with Get Together and Strangerville expansion packs. I'm reaching out for advice on how to address this serious issue and restore the textures' integrity to maintain the quality of my builds. Any guidance or insights into resolving this matter would be immensely appreciated.

I see two issues in your pic.  On the right and left, the roof trim doesn't look like it does in the center.   In the center, there are two small dormers that look weird as if they have no texture which I assume is the issue are you reporting in this post?

On the roof trim, have you tried drawing the eaves back in?  I will take a look at the texture in a test build. Have you tried other textures to see if all of them do it or is it just the one?

If you would like and are willing to upload the build to the Gallery, I will download it and take a look at it to see if I can find a way around it.  Just reply here with the lot name and your UserID on the Gallery (if different than the one you use here - AlexTheHuskarl) once you've uploaded it.

    Hope this helps.

    @AlexTheHuskarl@CGrant56

I was curious, so I tried it.
Making the gable roof 1 tile wide broke the texture.

Plain wall patterns are unaffected, but textured patterns are affected.

I don't know much about the trim on the roof, so I haven't tried it, but just in case, I will attach the one with the trim attached.

    Edit & Addition:

When I checked other roof patterns, I was able to confirm this problem even on roofs other than the Half Gable Roof.

So, edited part of the template.

I was going to upload the house to the gallery, as requested by @CGrant56,  but @Pick-a-boo_doo  illustrated the problem perfectly. I don't mind too much about the roof trim issue if there is any, but the broken/shifted textures in one-tile gables are driving me crazy.

Thanks a lot for your support.

I noticed it only yesterday, on one of my old creation.

Happened to me today as well. It has worked in the past, so it's a newly-ish introduced bug

Horse Ranch, Cottage Living, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, City Living, Get Famous, Get Together, Eco Lifestyle, Dream Home Decorator, Parenthood, Dine Out, Spa Day, Jungle Adventure, Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Luxury Party, Paranormal, Bathroom Clutter Kit, Desert Luxe Kit, Every Day Clutter Kit, Pastel Pop Kit, Fashion Street Kit
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Enter build mode and make any 1 tile-wide gabled roof piece. Regardless of height or length, the gabled roof piece just has to be 1 tile wide. Now take any wallpaper (as if you wanted to make the open wall piece brick for example) and place that wallpaper on the open face. Wallpaper will glitch, and not look right.
What happens when the bug occurs? The wallpaper places, but does not look right.
What do you expect to see? The wallpaper on the open-face portion of the roof should appear the same as the wall below it.

Please describe the patch or change you made. This glitch started after the update that preceded the Horse Ranch expansion pack release. Has not been fixed since.

Just a screenshot to better help explain! This glitch happens in every world, every lot I've tried. You can see on the 1 tile-wide gabled roof pieces, that strange wallpaper is supposed to be the same brick wallpaper as the rest of the house. However, it appears sideways and stretched, and lighter than the rest of the home. Every wallpaper does the same. And the wallpaper corrects itself if you stretch the roof piece to be two tiles wide.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place gable/Half-hipped roof segment (either diagonal or standard orientation) size width down to 1 tile wide
What happens when the bug occurs? The UV mapping of the wall segment is lost resulting in wallpapers not appearing correctly
What do you expect to see? Wallpaper applying correctly to wall segment of these roofing pieces
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

As title states. Because of my background making cc I recognised what is happening with this wall segment as I have encountered it while UV-Unwrapping objects. Pretty easy to replicate, and had a friend check for me on Mac. I usually don't use roof segments this small so not sure how long the bug has been there. Doesn't seem to occur on half-gable, but is clearly visible on both the Gable and Half-Hipped roofing, both diagonal and regular orientation. sizing the roof up to 2 tile or higher in width functions as intended, but 1 tile segments no longer do
