[FIXED] [DU] Dating and Romancing not working with Professors

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everyone
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to date a Professor from Discover University, specifically for me: Lana McKinnon.
What happens when the bug occurs? While I can use romance options, when I'm on the same lot as Lana. But I can't go on a date, she doesn't show up as person I can select when trying to call for a date via the phone. Also, if my character is in flirty mood, those options doesnt show when clicking on the portrait in the relationship window (it works for other persons). And if I get Lana on the same lot, I can use the chat menu to request a date, but after teleporting to the date location, the date completes directly. All of this is a problem both when I'm a student and after I've graduated. I'm currently Soulmate, Engaged, Best Friends with Lana.
What do you expect to see? That the romancing and dating system works the same with Professors from University as everyone else.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Professors no longer run away when attempting to take them on a date.

Fixed in Patch 1.108.289/1.94

@MagnusWestin the tuning filter for choosing sims who are allowed to be asked for dates excludes professors on purpose.

Not sure what their reasoning is, but they put that in there intentionally, so I don't think this is a bug in their view. You may be able to convince them otherwise with feedback.

They have pretty strict rules for several NPC types, for example butlers are also ineligible for dates.

@simvasion I figured it might be something like that, but they should allow it after you have graduated, basically if you are not a student at all. And it seems a bit haphazard, since I can romance them and marry them. But dating doesnt work.

Dating does not seem to work properly with University professors. I can Ask For Date in person and the professors will accept the date. However, nothing gets counted for either the main goal or the secondary goals, making it impossible to get past bronze. Bronze is only possible if my Sim's reputation and/or the lot traits let the date start that way. Since I am able to ask for a date, it can be accepted, and I can do all the interactions required for a date, I expect to succeed in getting gold, not be handed an unjustified failure or bronze. This is clearly a bug in my opinion.
I've never seen this tuning filter anywhere in the game. Please remember that not all of us are modders.

Hello, we'll look into these issues with dating professors.

Also, I've been told that the only restrictions here should be that students and professors should not be able to merge into the same household. Once a student has graduated, the restrictions should be removed.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Invite someone else on a date anywhere.
What happens when the bug occurs? I ask someone out on a date, and when we get there, it shows "Ask to Hang Out" as a dialogue option as if we didn't go there together. The event UI with things to accomplish still appears, but if I do anything on the list, it doesn't register at all (i.e. I have to flirt 3 times, I flirt, nothing happens). Then the date automatically fails after a minute or so.
What do you expect to see? To be able to go on a regular date, accomplish missions for the event, interact normally, and have it end normally.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

I tried it with both CC and removed CC. I took my date to Salty Paws Saloon and when that didn't work I had the date at my house and the same things happened both times. I don't know if this would have any impact, but it's not something I've done before - I'm trying to date a professor at Foxbury.

@letmelievIf you get the Ask to Hang Out option, then you need to use that option first to keep your date wherever the date is. Then you should be able to complete the date tasks then.

@letmeliev Is this while your Sim is still at Uni or afterwards ?

@CGrant56 I've tried that. They do agree to hang out but I still don't get any interaction progress and the date ends anyway.

@crinrict I tried playing as an NPC (one of the Pleasant girls) and had her drop out of uni, then ask a guy out on a date. Everything worked as intended.

I then went back to my own Sim and asked out another person and that also went as intended.

Then perhaps it has something to do with trying to date a professor? I looked at the thread you linked and didn't see anything to do with professors' roles.
