This just happened during a build I have been working on for several days. The highlighted box cannot be deleted. I get the "failed to compute cost" error message. I can't demolish the lot or replace it. This happens in build and live modes. I have tried using different lots and get the same results. I have repaired the game and started a new game, still the same results. I just want to finish this build ☹️

I was able to duplicate this bug in my game. This bug has to do with the Flat Round piece in the Walls and Empty Rooms category. This bug is caused when you place a flat round and then resize it down. It sometimes has the error when sized down to 2x3 and always has the error when sized down to 2x2. In order to reproduce, size the piece down to 2x2 and then rotate it once. After the rotation, you will be unable to rotate it further, move it, delete it, or even bulldoze the lot. You also cannot replace the lot with another from the library. Any time you try any of these actions, you will get "Failed to Compute Cost." In order to recover from the error, you either need to undo the downsizing of the piece (if possible) or exit and restart the game (without saving). I will add this bug to our build/buy index.

I was able to reproduce this issue in my game @SimQARobo with the specific build he references (see here) on the empty 50x40 lot in the Del Sol Valley world. Specifically, I went into the lot in build mode, placed the build from the gallery onto the lot (furnished). It positioned in the corner of the lot, so I selected "Move Lot" to reposition it to the center. Upon attempting to place it, the error occurred. Same bug when placing on the 50x40 lot in Newcrest and same bug when placing unfurnished instead of furnished. Same error on a 50x50 lot. All in all, it appears to be a bug with the build itself. The build was published on 11/12/18, so it's relatively new, and no doubt the builder is unaware of this problem (and probably did nothing directly to cause it). It may be something that will crop up with other builds as well, so probably worth investigating!

@blooossom please try the following steps: 1) remove any mods/CC, 2) clear your cache, 3) repair the game via Origin, 4) start a new save, and 5) test the circular flat piece in the new save. I'm advising this because it sounds like their may be corruption in your game, and taking the steps above should remove it. I've tried repairing my game a couple of times now, and I've deleted my cache, and also deleting all other rooms on the lot to see if there's an issue with another item. It still occurs. Bulldozing the lot results in the game freezing.If you'd like me to upload my build into the gallery, I'd be willing.

Same problem. I reinstalled the whole game, cleared the cache, removed mods.

A damn circle-shape foundation !!!!
It can not be erased, moved, or enlarged or reduced.
Just say "Failed to calculate the cost"or"Error in Circle-room" in the red alert window.

When i try to download from the gallery (for delete that damn foundation), get a long loading with a circle.And nothing happens.
Really annoying !!!!!!!!!!
I've built a house and I can not even play because of the damn foundation.
I uploaded that to my library(gallary?)

Have you tried to clear your game cache and delete the localthumbcache.package from the Sims 4 folder to help with troubleshooting.

And/or Repair Game?
In Origin > Game Library - right-click on Sims 4 and select Repair.

I'm not sure if Nualla has gotten back to you, but I also am having this error on one of my builds.
I've tried repairing my game a couple of times now, and I've deleted my cache, and also deleting all other rooms on the lot to see if there's an issue with another item. It still occurs.
Bulldozing the lot results in the game freezing.
