I have a similar issue on PC. I used full cas edit to change a sims trait and not only did it not save the change I wanted but it changed all my sims names, pronouns, traits etc. to be the same (including pets) and I can't change it back!
I tested this and I can duplicate after my Sim gained an exta trait.
EDIT: I can't duplicate it anymore. Wanted to take some screenshots for a blog posts and now CAS is fine with cheat, without, Plan Outfit, Modify in CAS and Change Sim .. Needs more testing.

I've been play testing with a copy of my normal game with mods removed. Two young adults plus one infant.
So far one adult has gotten 2 extra traits, the other one. Going into CAS via any of the regular (no cheats used) routes (dresser, mirror or household management) has not caused any changes. Next I'll try with some "testing cheats enabled" cheats.
Are the folks having problems mostly using the cheat methods? That is: Shift click to edit or using the full edit cheat? Normal CAS doesn't allow trait/relationship/appearance changes. I'm wondering if it's something about activating the full edit cheat to change traits or appearance.
- crinrict3 years agoHero+@DizzyDee-K For me personally I used the cheat first and it was messed up as described and then I entered by normal means through the mirror but without turning the cheat off and it was still messed up. Turned of the game cause other reasons and now I can't duplicate anymore.

@crinrict So far I haven't been able to duplicate with my current household. Going to play with a different household, wait for a trait addition, activate the cheat and see what happens.
I'm wondering if all the "open, close, open, close" I've been doing is a factor in not seeing this.
- 2 years ago@DizzyDee-K This still seems to an issue with game, I've only stumbled across it today. I've had a mess around and it doesn't matter about putting the cheat on or not, the issues only start after I have entered CAS mode with someone who has the extra trait.
Once I've been in the CAS mode, even other families are messed up in CAS mainly all having the same traits, so I've been exiting without saving.
I've also removed all my mods and cc so it's definitely not those effecting it 👍

I had this issue in a brand new save file when first taken into CAS I downloaded a sim from the gallery that had additional traits. There was no fulleditmode cheat used. I was able to delete the sims traits but then unable to add back any new ones, just left with empty trait slots that could not be clicked on. This was a vanilla game with no mods. Also I have since had the issue where all sims are given the same name when downloading sims from the gallery also.

So I did some more testing and I fact can still duplicate the CAS corruption with fulleditmode.
I'm not sure if it happens at all if you don't use the cheat but with the cheat, different things happen.
So far I've seen
1. All Sims have the same name
2. One of the options becoming a blue square (Possibly Walkstyle)
3. After removing an existing trait the GUI becomes unclickable
4. After changing the traits, the GUI starts to overlap and wrong traits stay in the selection
I also get a lastUIException (attached).

I'm going to link the werewolf thread as well as they are probably the same core issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-W-Missing-CAS-items-wrong-names-and-more-after-editing/m-p/11567907#M217464
Please do use this one if your Sim has a 4th trait and isn't a werewolf.
- crinrict3 years agoHero+@kokoro80 Thanks. I can totally duplicate this after I tried to change the trait. It seems fine if you don't try to change the traits though.
The bug seems also contagious. So if you have it on one save and then switch to another it will occur there too. You need to close down the game and then go back in.- frogcandles3 years agoRising Vanguard
I can confirm that this bug only happens if you touch the traits in CAS. I use full edit mode regularly to makeover my sims (multiple times in hour long sim sessions) and have not had any issues.

This has been happening to me too! I'm on pc, I had mods installed but I did the 50/50 method until I had none left and was still having this issue.
- 3 years ago@milkrosetea this bug is not modrelated.
