[FIXED] [HR] [CoL] No Option to clean animals/Animals not owned

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC/Windows 11/EA App
Which language are you playing the game in?: English
How often does the bug occur?: So far, only once. But I've also only moved households once since the horse pack dropped.
What is your current game version number?: 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed?
Cats and Dogs, City Living, Cottage Living, Desert Luxe, Dine Out, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Get to Work, Get Together, Growing Together, Holiday Celebration, Island Living, Laundry Day, Pet Stuff, Knitting Stuff, Paranormal Stuff, Parenthood, Realm of Magic, Romantic Garden, Seasons, Spa Day, Tiny Living, Vintage Glamour and Horse Ranch.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?

Have a household with goats. Move household into new lot. Place goats from household inventory into new lot.
What happens when the bug occurs?
When moved into new lot with goat-owning household, household is no longer marked as the owner of the goats. Even though I have just placed the goat from my household inventory, in live mode my sims are unable to place in inventory, wash or sell the goats. The error message that appears states that my sims don't own that item. I can still place the goats back into household inventory in build mode.
What do you expect to see?
I expect the sims who own the goats should be able to interact with them as if they own them.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?
This persisted both with and without master commander mod, which is my only mod.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?
I don't remember if I ever moved with goats in my household before so I can't be sure.

HEELP (ps4 btw)

I moved my household and my sheep’s and goats went in my inventory. But when I got to my new house my goat was only in my inventory BUT NOT THE SHEEP and so I thought I left the sheep at my old house. Then I get a message she wants to runaway then i click on the notification and it takes me to her. She appears but it says I don’t own her and I can’t feed her or clean her. I tried resting her but that didn’t work. SO HEELLP she is on my lot but can’t take care of her. HEEELPP

    • Goats and Sheep now have “Care”, “Put In Inventory”, and “Trade For” interactions right after moving to a new lot.

    Fixed in Patch 1.109.185/1.98

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.107.112.1030 DX9
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to bottle feed or clean the mini sheep or goats
What happens when the bug occurs? The care option is not there, no options for bottle feeding or cleaning
What do you expect to see? The care option normally lets you bottle feed and clean the mini sheep and goats
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Goats and sheet do not have the option for any care including being able to bottle feed or clean

  • I finally figured it out. I do not actually own them anymore, which is i guess why i cant care for them. Now just trying to figure out why i do not own them/how this happened. What is even stranger is even though i do not own them when they get upset and want to leave it still alerts me.

@Kaylierhea I merged your post with the existing thread then. Make sure to click me too on the first post.
  • My resolution for this same problem: Save ENTIRE lot to gallery/share to gallery, leaving any coops, sheds, etc on the lot. Move entire household to another lot. Enter gameplay at new lot with household. Move entire household back to original lot, enter gameplay with household at original lot. Enter build/buy mode and place lot from gallery using cheats to add enough money to replace the lot if necessary. Assign animals accordingly, call them out and verify you own them.

I like to build a lot before I move my household in, but they already had some farm animals. When moving the household to another lot, somehow they lost ownership of the cow. Tried everything except trying to break it enough to fix it like this. Even when broken, it saved the relationship with the cow. The shed wasn't overlapping with any objects including fences, decor, other buildings, etc. I debug reset all sims and animals on the lot and it still didn't work!

Not sure why this happens with simply moving from one house to another, but i hope this helps someone!

@0Aquadroplet0  hey, I just tried this and the mini sheep I had the issue with ended up in my inventory. Couldn't sell it, and upon placing it in the world, I still couldn't feed it, clean it etc. ☹️ So it didn't work for me somehow..... I wish these bugs would get fixed.

  • I moved my sims 4 household and now they no longer own mini goats, mini sheep, chickens or cows. Even though they came out of their household inventory
