    Sims that confront their fear of the dark will not continue to be affected by the Afraid of the Dark Scared Moodlet buff.

    Fixed in Patch 1.97.42/1.73

I've run into a weird issue that I haven't seen before since the update that adds fears to Sims 4. One of my sims developed a fear of the dark. She got rid of it but is still receiving the scared buff constantly despite not having the fear. This also happens during the day (weather related?) and at night while staying in lit rooms (not sure if that's supposed to happen... if so, disregard this part). I ended up getting a fear-be-gone potion from the rewards store to see if it would fix but as the sim in question doesn't even have the fear anymore it wasn't effective. 

Update: It shows up during the day regardless of weather. It happens whether it's cloudy or not.

    @Kitkatkatiexsims This could be a bug. BUT the fear-be gone potion may only reset the trasit until the next time it is triggered. Fear is a temporary trait which means it comes and goes. You can remove the fear trait by facing it head on with a confident mood. I think there are cheat codes for cheats and I think the MCCC can control traits  There is also a way to remove a trait from the list. of traits. hth

      I did get it removed by doing that. The problem is the scared buff STILL shows up despite not having the fear. The buff is specifically for the fear of the dark that the sim no longer has, regardless of if it’s dark or not. The sim just constantly suffers from a +2 scared moodlet. I have downloaded MCC in hopes of getting rid of it but even after deleting the moodlet, it pops back up immediately afterwards.

        @Kitkatkatiexsims Did you try the cheat to remove that  trait from the list of traits? This trait is a temporary trait and something may be triggering it that your sims encounters all the time to retrigger it. I have seen other posts about this trait and maybe this is a true bug (don't know). Try the cheat to remove this trait from the list and see if the helps.  hth
