[FIXED] Lost save games

It seems EA has identified the source of this and is working on a fix.  The issue lies with the auto-save so to prevent this from happening, try this: Don't load/save to that auto-save slot. ...

    UPDATE on the Issue

    It seems EA has identified the source of this and is working on a fix. 

    The issue lies with the auto-save so to prevent this from happening, try this:

    • Don't load/save to that auto-save slot. After starting a new game, use save-as to make a new named slot. Then always save to that one.
    • Don't use the PLAY button on the main menu but use the disc icon in the upper right corner to load the game. Never load the auto-save.
    • Before you leave the game for good, use save as again and make sure you don't save to the auto-save slot but to a new one.
    • Always make backups of the saves folder on a regular basis

    I wanna thank everyone that has participated in this thread to help identify the problem.

Basically, I was playing TS4 around 1am-ish EST, give or take. My cat, being the fantastic being that she is, flipped my surge protector off while I was playing. When I went back in my last autosave had been at 12:08 am, around the same time as my last main save. So I went ahead and loaded the game from the auto save to continue it and kept "saving" at regular intervals. I should have known something was off when I clicked save and it would  return me back to live mode quickly. When I booted the game up today I still had the autosave from 12:08 and none of my saves done after that had stuck, leaving me with just the auto save to fall back on. I'm not sure if it's because I loaded an autosave instead of my normal save so I'll have to try just my normal save and see what happens. I'll be going back to this family shortly to see if the same problem pops up.

  • Are you using custom content (as in clothing and objects) ?   No
  • What is your Operating System (XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1) ?   Windows 7
  • Do you have the download or DVD Version of the game ?    Download

I've added. Not sure what's up with those save games/auto saves not saving correctly.

Could you check what files you have in the saves folder in docuemtnes ?
