    • The Tea Magic Personal Brewer was brewing worse and worse quality tea over time, until it could only produce poor tea. Not only did we fix that, but we discovered and fixed an underlying issue that was preventing Sims from ever brewing excellent quality tea. Enjoy your delicious tea!

    Fixed in Patch 1.47.49

update: today i placed the teapot in a community lot (The Blue Velvet) and directed my Sim to brew a pot. the quality was "normal". trying to sell it shows it's worth 275 simoleons.

I have added this with a bit of a question mark.

I don't see it in my own game but there's a few people reporting this so I'm adding.

    Finally got to do a bit of testing. In my main save, the tea pot will make maybe one normal pot of tea upon first purchase and then it's poor quality regardless of cooking skills. 

    I tried in a fresh save, and the tea pot will make normal tea for about 2-3 sim days, then it'll start making poor quality, again, regardless of cooking skills. So I went to sell it and it's as the other simmer said, the pot sells for $5. I bought a new pot, again, 2-3 of normal tea, then the value drops and the quality goes to poor. 

    It seems that in my main save, the pot loses value to poor quality nearly instantly, where as in fresh save, it happens after two or three days. 

    I still think this is a bug. No way should a tea pot lose so much value (to $5) that tea quality drops and stays drops. Also, the upgrades do nothing, which I think should eliminate the issue all together when fully upgraded. 

    I think this still needs to be fixed, otherwise the tea pots are pretty useless as buying a new tea pot every 3 days will get expensive.

      I've added it because of the amount of reports.

      I can't duplicate myself. Still fine for me after several days.

        hm... seems to be random... today i've obtained both poor and normal quality tea from the same teapot in the same house.

        (edit: another whole day with the same teapot. it is still producing both normal and poor quality tea, but its selling value has dropped to 5 simoleons, as others have reported.

        edit, again: i get it too--looks like after 2-3 more days, every kind of tea is of poor quality, every time.)

      This has happened to me as well, with a fully upgraded teapot, and it's a pain to have to buy a new one, upgrade it, just to have the same thing happen again.

      Just for the record, I do not use any mods or cc in my game.

        you're right, @ Anita_Montresor. i've just given up.

        it's sad, when my Sims don't have enough money, that they need to sell something else to buy it. i'm not using any cheats to make this save easier, and the tea pot is the one thing they simply *need* to have.

        also (i know this is kind of silly) one of them is supposed to make really amazing tea, so this truly breaks immersion. :'(

    The entire time I've had sims making tea, it's never been higher than just normal quality, regardless of their skill levels. This is with mods, without mods, new games, old saves, upgraded, not upgraded...never makes any difference.  Why bother having an object that never makes good quality tea no matter what you do?  Buying a new one every few days is a stupid waste of simoleans.

      after more testing, i think i've had the worst luck when brewing Pitch Black. it will be of poor quality most of the time, and i've brewed many pots in a row. i originally thought it was exactly the same with the other teas. anybody else notice it's a particular kind of tea? maybe it was just random.

      (edit: brewed again and again and i got normal quality Pitch Black several times in a row. it does look like it's random. but a Sim with cooking skill level of 7 got more normal quality pots than one with a level of 4. however, not that long ago, i had Sims with their cooking skill level at 10 who brewed poor quality tea every time.

      also, does anybody have issues placing the tea maker on an end table/anywhere that isn't a bench top? should i open a thread for this? i can't find a proper "can't place objects" one.

      new edit: after the December patch i've noticed that after some time, the option to "brew pot of..." disappears, and only "upgrade" remains.)
